Questions & Answers

From left to rght .. where is the drain located... or what drain options are available.?

Asked by: Paul
The Kohler Levity 59" x 74" Semi-Frameless Sliding Shower Door in Nickel with Handle is just the shower door it does not include the shower base. There are shower bases which are sold completely separate, they offer drains that are on the left or the right as well as the center. Hope this was helpful. Thank You for Your Business.

Are owners happy with the glass thickness? Does the 1/4” feel sturdy or flimsy?

Asked by: Pam
I love my shower glass doors. 1/4 glass is pretty sturdy.

Left or right shower head? So I am used to the interior panel being closest to the shower head, which is on the right or opposite to the product picture. As it is installed with the handles, the outer panel is closest to the shower head, which seems like water can shoot out through the middle where the panels meet. When I pull the interior panel over, there is a fairly large gap along the wall due to the stop. Either way does not appear to be as water tight as I am used to. Am I worrying too much?

Thanks Sarah, If that's true, then the instructions may not have been entirely clear to the ones installing. It was my first question upon my inspection after it was installed. They insisted it was installed according to directions. Now, the handles need to be reversed. Can they be removed and reinstalled? It seems that they are on there fairly solidly. Looking through customer supplied pictures of the product, I am seeing about half installed with the interior panel towards the head, and half with the interior panel away from the head.

Question about water leak for users who have installed this door? Does this door leak water to adjacent bathroom floor when showering? I have heard that some sliding doors have leak issues, so wondering, what is your experience with this door? Thanks.
Asked by: Hary
Hi Hary, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm glad to address your question. When the door is installed properly, you should not experience any leaking. Depending on the location of the leaking, here are our recommendations. If the leaking is happening between the shower doors, the door size should be checked. If the door is too small for the opening of your shower, it would create a smaller overlap. When using the shower, the showerhead should be pointed away from the glass panel. The inside panel should be closest to the showerhead when running. If the leaking is occurring under the door panels, we suggest lowering the panels to reduce the gap between the panel and shower ledge. If the leaking is occurring under the threshold we suggest checking the shower ledge to see if there are curved corners between the wall and bottom ledge. If so, the wall jambs should be trimmed and filed to match the curvature on the shower ledge. Lastly, the threshold should be sealed with 100% silicone. We suggest removing the silicone and reapplying it along the front surface of the threshold and along where the wall jamb and shower ledge meet. Let it cure per the silicone manufacturers recommendation. For additional assistance, please call our Customer Service team at 1-800-456-4537 (M-F; 8am-5pm CST). Thank you for choosing KOHLER.
