Maxstow 30 in. x 40 in. Frameless Surface-Mount Aluminum Medicine Cabinet

This is not your Mother's medicine cabinet! It's so much better! Every medicine cabinet I've ever owned was the standard built into the side wall of your bathroom type. This one isn't built in -it hangs on the wall. It's very easy to install but is much easier if you have two people. Since it's more than 3 feet tall, you can also use it as a full length mirror by installing it slightly lower in an open area of the bathroom. It holds a lot! Great product.

First comment is that the title of this cabinet is perfect because it is huge. The interior is well designed with staggered shelves to allow for taller canisters to be stored inside. For instance, hairspray or shaving cream, can easily stand in this cabinet. I’m a little disappointed that the exterior sides of the cabinet are not clad in either stainless steel or mirrors.it makes me want to recess the cabinet regardless of it being a surface mount installation. The interior is perfectly lovely though.

The Kohler Maxstow 20in x 40in frameless cabinet is beyond gorgeous. The frameless feature makes it easily adaptable to any space it’s put in. You can mount it either way, having to door swing to the left, or the door swing to the right. The cabinet itself is about 4 inches wide, and has PLENTY of room on the inside for storage. The staggered shelves make it easy to store big and small things. Good weight, sturdy construction and craftsmanship, would definitely recommend Kohlers various sized Maxstow options. Beautiful!

This Kohler surface mount medicine cabinet is AWESOME!!!   It is well-made, a quality product, and with some great features.  I have never seen one like it before.  I chose the largest model which is 20" x 40" for more space, and it is just great.  I had the room for it, so I thought why not get a medicine cabinet with LOADS of space.  I have a built in medicine cabinet in another bathroom which is a fraction of this size, and it is overflowing, crowded, not enough space...  not the case here.  This cabinet also has full 20' x 40' mirror on both sides of its door, so really, you are getting not one, but TWO large mirrors, which I like.  What a great idea instead of leaving the interior of the door just metal.Having these extra mirrors in the bathroom is really handy as I might be doing my hair, he could be shaving; we will both have a mirror at our disposal at the same time instead of needing to share, which can be hard.   The cabinet also has lots of shelves, and with different heights to store small things, like bottles of aspirin, pain relievers, etc..., makes it very easy to keep aspirin/pain relievers on the top shelf OUT of the reach of children. It also has shelves for taller items like mouthwash, which is great as it makes these things so easily accessible.  In this bathroom, I had no medicine cabinet before.  The bathroom has a large closet, but putting little things like small bottles of medicine in a large closet is like looking for a needle in a haystack when you are trying to find what you want due to its small size, while a medicine cabinet has a shallow depth, making small items like small bottles easy to find.  Bottles of mouthwash can go anywhere, but it sure is nice to have it so very close to the sink; this is a superior location for it.  I like that this medicine cabinet organizes "medical stuff" that comes in small containers so that if someone is looking for it, I will simply say, "It is in the medicine cabinet"; there they will easily retrieve it instead of needing to rummage through the bathroom closet.  It also alleviates any "junk" on the countertop; I like my countertops clear of junk, which makes the bathroom look very neat, makes the bathroom countertop super easy to clean, and it lets my beautiful black granite bathroom countertops show how beautiful they are.  A great feature that this medicine cabinet also has is that it can be hung to open on the right OR left, YOU CHOOSE which works best for you.  The shelves were designed to work for either scenario. I think it adds a lot to this bathroom, and I am thrilled that I found it...  Now that I have this one, I am disappointed in the built in medicine cabinet in another bathroom that now seems so small...  I may replace that one with another one of these to give us more space instead of being overcrowded in a much smaller cabinet.  It is a beauty!  I think anyone would love it!  Another great element is that it hangs on the wall so it doesn't take up space or get in your way.  Instead, it adds (storage) space by making use of unused, dead space, which I like.  I hung mine over the toilet.  This was otherwise "dead" space...  not any more...  Now that "dead space" is occupied by a great 2 mirrored organizer for small medical stuff (ie. aspirin, pain relievers, allergy tablets, other tablets, (medical) lotions or remedies, gauze, band aids, tubes of antibiotic cream, remedies for whatever...  all can be easily located in this large medicine cabinet.  I LOVE IT!!! No regrets! I am VERY pleased with this choice.

If you are looking for a tall, thin surface mount bathroom cabinet this one fits the bill. Its really lightweight so installation is a easy task. The mirror is the full length and width of the 20" x 40" cabinet. The Mirror is double sided and actually is the door itself The non adjustable shelves are staggered to provide room for the storage of some taller items. With that being said, I really does not have as much storage space as I expected in a cabinet of this size. (I keep a lot of stuff in my bathroom) I may utilize the cabinet in another bathroom other than where I was going to use it. The back is a sturdy plastic.

This Kohler Medicine cabinet is nice and nice and BIG ! There's lots of shelves and the shelves are arranged so you can have tall bottles or other items. As you can see in the first picture I used a 2x4 (leveled) to set the cabinet on (I installed myself). I located the studs in the wall and measured so everything would line up. it's best to measure so you can put the top screws just above the upper shelves so they are not seen and the lower screws under the bottom shelves.

The Kohler frameless medicine cabinet is all about clean lines and efficiency. The frameless design means the entire front of the cabinet is a mirror. When you open the mirrored door, the entire back of the door is also a mirror. The shelves are screwed into position, meaning they aren't designed for easy repositioning. Since they are supported by screws from the back of the cabinet, they aren't required to be full width. Several shelves are staggered, allowing for tall objects to fit on several of the shelves. The shelves are deceptively deep. Because there is no frame, the door can be very thin. The walls of the cabinet are similarly thin. It's well constructed and rugged in spite of the lightweight material in use. The only negative was the instructions. They refer to a mounting template that I was supposed to use for marking mounting holes, but there was no template in the packaging. Not a big deal. It was very easy to mount without the template. I didn't include a picture of the front of the cabinet because it's all mirror and all you see is a picture of me taking a picture of me.

The cabinet was very easy to install. Just wish the doors had a soft close feature. They do tend to slam shut which is pretty scary with a thin mirror like this.
