Yes, I only used one hole. Just cut the holes you need in your countertop.

There is a similar sink on the Home Depot webiste that has the model number K-RH8679-5UA3. Is there a difference between this sink K-8679-5UA3 and the other sink K-RH8679-5UA3? I looked at the specs and couldn't see a difference. Just want to make sure I know what I'm getting if I order the other one.

KOHLER Riverby Undermount Cast Iron 33 in. 5-Hole Double Bowl Kitchen Sink Kit with Accessories in White is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Nice Sink My wife and I are a little tired of stainless steel sinks so when we recently remodeled our kitchen we decided to go back to a cast iron/porcelain sink. We wanted the best out there so we bought this Riverby model and we are pleased as can be. The sink weighs a ton (well, actually 123 pounds) but that's one of the things we love about it: it's density and weight make it very quiet and sturdy and strong. The drains are a bit off center which makes each basin a little more useful and it comes with 5 holes so you can put in any faucet imaginable, and an instant hot water tap and a soap dispenser; really great! Just remember this one has to be under-mounted because the holes are quite large. The accesories are perfect, nice and solid and really useful. Having had other cast iron sinks in the past, we really appreciate the bottom stainless steel racks; this will keep heavy pots and pans from marring the finish. Overall, although not cheap, you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An exceptionally nice sink for most mid-sized kitchens My wife and I run a small property investment business in Western Pennsylvania. We buy, rent, renovate, and sell homes. I am a registered PA home improvement contractor and head up our small rehab team. We handle most of our renovation work in-house, especially the most common projects we do, like kitchen renovations. We have extensive experience putting durable kitchens into our city rentals and luxury kitchens into the homes we renovate to sell. Therefore, I’m going to talk about this Kohler Riverby sink from a consumer buying standpoint and a bit from the professional installation standpoint, because there’s quite a bit to say about both. In the last twenty years or so, Kohler has worked hard to promote itself as a general kitchen and bath fixture designer and I’ve run across a number of people who don’t know much about the company outside the ads they’ve seen on TV. The ads tend to highlight Kohler’s commitment to original designs, and their tagline is “The Bold Look of Kohler.” Well, it’s true that the company has updated many of its product designs, but if you’re here, looking at something as classic as an enameled cast iron kitchen sink, it should also be said that Kohler has been making them in Wisconsin since the 1880s. Quite simply put, there is no major manufacturing company worldwide with a prouder or longer legacy of making these fixtures. Generation after generation of American builders has consistently chosen Kohler when they need enameled cast iron fixtures. This is one of the no-brainer realities in American residential construction and luxury home improvement. No other domestic company comes close, no foreign company can reasonably compete with Kohler. Most especially when it comes to high-end enameled cast-iron kitchen sinks, Kohler has practically cornered the US market for more than a century, through good times and bad. This is an undermount sink, meaning that it is attached to the bottom of a solid state polymer, stone, or engineered stone countertop. I have personally never seen a cast-iron undermount sink under any sort of plastic countertop. The usual pairing is with 3-centimeter-thick granite. The way that undermount stainless steel sinks are usually mounted to the bottom of a countertop is by epoxying them in, and then reinforcing the epoxy with mechanical clamps under the counter or in some cases a strap arrangement. You may be familiar with this. This is because a stainless sink of this size weighs from a third to as little as a fifth of a cast-iron sink like this one. Before epoxies and sealants were as advanced as they are nowadays, it was more common to carefully build a sturdy wooden frame under the level of the countertop, drop the undermount sink into it, and then install the (very heavy) countertop with a template-sized hole for the sink cut into it over the sink, sealing the gap between the sink and the bottom of the counter. That is still one way that this sink can be installed. Done properly, the installation will last practically forever as long as the wood frame is strong enough and heavy ceramic, metal, or stone objects are not thrown with vigor into the sink. The porcelain coating on these sinks is many times thicker than the wafer-thin coating on things like steel bathtubs. This sink will likely outlast the functional lifespans of most residential buildings erected today. So from a consumer standpoint, a sink such as this is among the most lasting investments you can make to increase the value of your home. For a long time, enameled cast iron kitchen sinks were considered too expensive compared to much of the cheaper furnishings you could buy for your kitchen. Slowly, as issues such as renewability and recyclability, green building materials and environmental toxicity, uncompromising microorganism resistance in the age of the superbug, as well as a certain nostalgia for the solidity of the past versus the flimsiness of the present become more and more important to many consumers, a new appreciation for the lasting value of these sinks has come about. Doubtlessly, this appreciation will also pass someday, and these sinks will once again fall out of favor among the buying public. People will call them dated and old-fashioned again, a relic of estate houses of the early twenty-first century. I still love these sinks, and this one is a beautiful, functional example of why. First up there’s the size. 33-inches is the most common sink size for medium-sized kitchen prep sinks. Unless you have a very large kitchen, with a main and a secondary food prep sink, or you invest in an apron or farmhouse sink that is specifically designed to look enormous in your kitchen, a 36-inch undermount sink will generally look oversized in it. Once the size is out of the way, there’s the design with the oversize holes for fixture installation. The fact that the rear flange extends to include these holes means that there’s a great deal more surface space for the sink to be sealed to the counter, and that becomes more and more important as time goes by in the lifetime of a row of bottom kitchen cabinets, which may more or shift over the decades. There’s less of a chance that the sink position will shift and compromise the installation. Figure A shows the precision finishing of the gently-rounded enamel in the corners of the counter. These days, many reinforced stainless steel sinks sold as “Euro-styled” and “handmade” are made with sharper corners. It is more difficult and expensive to precisely cut and finish the template hole for these sinks in a stone counter using conventional granite fabrication tools. As a fashion statement, the sharper corners on the stainless sinks I’m talking about look up-to-date and sleek. In terms of practicality, they also make the sinks more difficult to clean and install correctly. You should generally go with this gently rounded style from a consumer standpoint. The only exception to this is if you need, for some reason, more sink depth for soaking than the 9 5/8 inches provided in this sink. If you are going with a classic configuration, that means the sink will be mounted under 3 cm granite, which means that the true sink depth for this sink will be approximately 10 3/4 inches. Figure B shows the stainless-steel sink grate that lies on the bottom of the primary bowl. It is fitted with heavy white bumpers. Ideally, in a stainless steel sink, the sides of the grate should have their own bumpers. In a cast iron sink, this is unnecessary, as the porcelain coating is more scratch resistant than the stainless steel it rubs against. Figure C shows the 23-inch undermount kit provided with this sink. The Home Depot needs to advertise this better, as this steel undermount kit is an expensive add-on on the Kohler site. The undermount kit makes it much easier to install this sink and precisely adjust the placement of the sink on most undermount configurations (every straight run of counter except in a corner or on a curve -- you still have to use the wood-framing method for these.). Figure D will only be of real interest to the professional installer. The little cast iron feet on the bottom of this sink means that you can dry-fit it easily by standing it on a site-built wood platform. This will make it easier to use the undermount system to achieve the best possible fit on the template-cut hole. Figure E shows the template that comes with this sink, again, this will be of significant interest only to a professional countertop fabricator. The template shows the edge of the undermount sink, which many such templates by less careful manufacturers omit. This will make it easier to deal with any sort of custom installation or various polishing errors in finishing the sink hole. Overall, this is a very well-made cast-iron sink, and the Kohler legacy of more than a century of making these fixtures shows very clearly in the final product. Properly installed, this sink is going to outlast its current newfound popularity. It is an extremely expensive luxury home accessory that is both functional and beautiful. It is very difficult to damage this sink with reasonable use. I plan on putting this into the next mid-sized luxury kitchen we renovate for sale, and I am confident it will increase the value of the home and make the buyer very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 1st one I bought had a slight bow in... The 1st one I bought had a slight bow in it - wouldn't fit flat underneath my countertop. They had it picked up for replacement - that was the easy part. I spent hours on the phone with Home Depot & Kohler trying to get a replacement expedited - it was in stock in a warehouse not too far from me, but neither wanted to authorize (and pay for) expedited shipping. They originally said it would take 10 days!?!? Finally got them to speed up delivery, although not really expedited. All the while I'm without a kitchen sink!! The replacement was fine. The sink is exactly what I was looking for - very plain and squared off (goes well in the kitchen of my 100 year old arts & crafts style house), the deep bowls are nice for filling tall pots, & the cast iron/enamel sink will probably last until the house is 200 years old! Two minor irritations: 1. Kohler includes some accessories that for me are only marginally useful. Before buying the sink I asked if I could buy the sink without the accessories & save myself some money, but was told that that is the only way they sell it. This is just a way for Kohler to sell overpriced accessories. 2. A Kohler label (looks like it is made of a rubbery material) is stuck on the inside back wall of the left bowl. Very obvious, very tacky looking, a place to collect dirt. This is NOT shown on the photo or drawing on the Kohler web site! I will contact Kohler to find out if it can be removed without damaging the enamel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A sink to beat all sinks This is a truly serious sink. It's hard to propose more features -- cast iron, five holes for any possible combination of faucet that anyone could dream up, and a drainboard that's included in the package. The weight of the package will get your attention -- over 100 pounds. Once it is installed, it is not going anywhere at all. The sheer mass of the iron makes it a beast. The completely enameled surface makes cleaning a breeze. Truly a giant among sinks.
