Tank lid
Overall I like the toilet ,i it bothers me that the tank lid doesn’t fit and shows a tan line that it doesn’t have a shinny gloss finish and looks dirty is horrible ,I hope Kholer can send a lid replacement

Doesn’t include a soft close lid
What kind of $379 toilet doesn’t include a soft close lid? The tank lid also does not fit properly and reveals a tan rim between the tank and the tank lid.

Poor quality
Disappointed with this Kohler Santa Rosa. I thought price was good. Now I know why.
Haven’t finished hooking up supply line yet. Will do that later. But noticed poor workmanship in quality of finish as soon as I placed the lid on it.
Have used Kohler for years.

Only Somewhat Satisfied
Bought this to replace an older toilet that was starting to crack. Easy to install and looks good, however the fill valve is constantly being interfered with the fill tube. This is an extremely poor design which required me to eventually duct tape the tube to the side of the tank. I'm not sure why the tube couldn't have been made 1" longer to bypass the valve. The seat and lid are not quiet close, so I had to use my hold one which was also elongated to make it not slam. At this price, I would expect the tank mechanics to be working without duct tape and ideally a quiet close lid.
In any case, I fully expect the Kohler brand to stand up to the elements, and not crack like my last 8 year old toilet did, so in the end happy that I have Kohler which is sturdy and looks great.

The tank lid is NBD & if you want a better seat...
Kohler's free replacement tank lid arrived today & it does overlap the tank. The original is more flush with it. See pictures.
IMHO it comes down to taste, or in my case which one does a better job hiding how the previous owner didn't paint behind the tank of the previous toilet.
BTW: If a slow-closing seat is important, check features & make sure you buy that Santa Rosa model. HD has it for $20 more. This was a bathroom upgrade & my plumber installed Kohler's C3-K155 bidet seat instead.

Due to the unique design of this toilet, there may be a small gap between the tank lid and top of the tank. We do have a tank lid that overhangs the top of the toilet tank. This will hide the gap. Disappointed in the QC for the tank lid, but overall it's pretty decent.
Impressive, and easy to install. The particular one I have was made in the USA, which was great to see.

Disappointed on many levels
We are very disappointed with this new Kohler toilet that we bought. We are considering buying two more toilets but will look at other brands and designs to avoid the issues that we have with this one. I should have read the reviews prior to buying this toilet but the Kohler name has always represented good quality so I did not think I had to. I too am very disappointed that for that price the self close lid was not included and very disappointed with the fit of the tank lid. The toilet is very loud when flushed and not very effective in clearing the bowl. I hope that Kohler will resolve this issue in design because it seems most people are very unhappy with it. Kohler should also replace the toilet seat with a self closing one and a better fitting tank lid.
