Will this work with a kohler 45906-CP and shower valve K-8300?

No; a volume control valve is not needed with the K-8304 valve as it is a single control valve. A volume control valve would be required with a thermostatic valve. What 3 way valve match this Handle?

The valve for T10943-4-cp for the 1/2 inch Thermostatic valve would be 2972-ks-na, The 2973-KS-NA for the 1/2 stacked thermostatic valve 2974-K -NA for the 1/2 volume control or the 2975-KS for the 3/4 Thermostatic valve.
