Work in progress.
I would definitely recommend the tea for two cast iron tub. It was boxed in a wooden crate and arrived in perfect condition, seriously I have no complaints!

BUYER BEWARE! This bathtub was advertised on Home Depots website as an ALCOVE BATHTUB. But it is actually a DROP IN bathtub! Description is false and pictures are deceptive. Make sure you do your research!

Hello, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm sorry to hear you have had trouble with the installation. I would like to share, this product (855-R) is intended for an alcove installation. Framing must be constructed prior to installation of this bath. Please follow the instructions included with the bath. Here is a direct link: https://www.us.kohler.com/webassets/kpna/catalog/pdf/en/1084219_2.pdf. Please email us at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com with any questions. We're here to help! -Sarah S. Super luxurious and elegant tub. But extra work over other options. Because our house is 100 years old, I was only considering cast iron, and this was literally the only tub that would (almost) fit the unique space (69" by 36"). I created a small shelf with those few extra inches, since the tub is 66" x 36".
The good news:
1. This is a huge tub with a very high waterline. Highest water capacity of any tub that I have ever seen.
2. Three side alcove design means that it works as a tub/shower; usually drop-in tubs are the only style this large.
The bad news:
1. While the weight is listed at 400+ lbs, and can be moved around by two strong men while on the ground, it was IMPOSSIBLE for five strong men to get it up my narrow 33" staircase. Eventually I had to buy a winch and build a track out of 2x6s to be able to get it up the stairs. If you need to go up stairs; this will be a very big issue.
2. You can only install using the specific overflow/drain combo, which made me notch the floor joist so as to violate building code (which allows for 1/6 of joists notch). While the building inspector didn't notice (and I passed inspection), the placement of the drain so far from the wall will require you to notch your floor joists.

Love the tub!
I gave the quality 4 instead of 5 stars because I think the non-slip material on the bottom will be hard to keep clean, especially as the tub ages. However for use, with such a large tub, that is definitely much better than having a nonslip mat in the tub.
Unless you're very handy at remodeling projects, I'd recommend having someone install this for you. I think the most challenging for our contractor was that we ran the floor tiles up the front (this model has no apron) and so he had to do some cutting and fitting.

This tub is gorgeous! And huge! It is very deep and very heavy. This bathroom was a remodel so it took some ingenuity to get it too it’s resting place. Make sure you measure several times before purchase. Overall we are very satisfied with this purchase. One thing to know before purchasing is that the drain to the tub is purchased separately and it is pretty pricey especially for a finish other than chrome.

Large enough for two people
We picked up the bathtub from the store, then my husband managed to get the tub into the garage by himself, where it sat for several weeks. Then, he had me help turn the tub on it's side (while still in the wood framing for shipping) and put it on two furniture dollies, so we could wheel it to the bathroom. Once we got it to the bathroom, my husband directed me how to assist in getting the tub onto the floor right side up. After removing all of the wood framing and the cardboard cover we came to realize how very large (deep) the tub really is. The tub was in great condition! I am glad that the inside bottom has a very thin layer of built-in non-slip texture. We bought the chrome drain/plug system for this tub. I like the technology that when the drain is closed it is level with the floor of the tub, no part sticking up that has to be avoided when moving around in the tub. The method for opening/closing the drain is by lifting/lowering the overflow lever - very clever. I expect we shall get many years of enjoyment out of this tub.

Quality Tub - Tea-for-Two 5.5 ft bath
I recently ordered and received my Tea-for-Two 5.5 ft bath, Model K-855-0. This is a great product but care must be taken to order the overflow and drain parts (shown but not provided), in addition to the tub. The website does not list the drain as a seperate part. The drain part number is K7141-AF-BN. BN stands for "Brushed Nickel", my desired finish. If you drop BN you will get the chrome finish. This tub is also extremely heavy. Make sure you have a place to put it until you are ready to install or have help to immediately move it in posistion once received. Shipping is your door only. Enjoy your new tub. I intend to enjoy mine!!!
Underscore 5.5 ft. Reversible Drain Bathtub in White
Add a touch of style to your bathroom withAdd a touch of style to your bathroom with the Underscore bathtub. Its undermount installation goes well with stone or tile bathroom designs, but it can also be installed with a drop-in method. And the tub's acrylic construction gives it durability and luster.View Full Product Description
