A:  When I was looking I read on the Koehler website I believe that they would send s template ahead of time. I love the sink. I did something similar. I had to cut out granite to get it to fit in. The back edge of the granite ended up being very thin and brittle and it broke. So I had to build out the trim on the back of the countertop an extra inch so that it would cover that area. I do love the sink though. I bought the stainless steel grates that fit in the bottom. I also hooked it up with a disposal.

A:  Good luck on getting that template folks! I was impressed (and highly misled) with the Kohler Product Expert response and just wasted 40 min of my life trying to get it. The first lady in the literature dept was very nice. She, however, could "only" order the first numbered template (-7). She then transferred me to the product dept. A not so nice lady took the call and without even asking me the number of the template immediately wanted to transfer me back to the literature dept.!!! After a 20 Min wait, this?!?! come on!? After some insistence, she "agreed" to look up the template number and was quick to inform me that costs $17.95. So.... let me get this straight... I’m about to buy a sink for $500 and they can’t send me a measurement template, or for that matter, share the pdf? Wow...!!! So I got on the Livechat with the HomeDepot folks. Got a very nice lady which endured my venting, and she herself called Kohler. Same experience. Except this time the Kohler rep offered up a new gem idea… She did speak to them, and sure enough, same scenario, and this time the Kohler rep shared how the templates come with the sink! Dear Kohler, 1. Your expert needs to UPDATE your response here as it is misleading and incorrect! 2. Your business model is absurd! The result… if you want to sink, spend $500 , buy the sink, use the template, and if the template indicates it doesn’t work, return the sink. A:  Absolutely, I did. You need to call or e-mail Kohler and a service sale rep will send one to you - no problem.

A:  Yes, call Kohler. The cardboard cutout template is considered a "service part," so it's not in the "literature" department (they only have the countertop paper cutout). The part number for this particular "Kit Compatibility Template" for this exact sink (and others with more faucet holes) is: #1178341. Kohler was nice, and 2-day shipped it to me for free.
