I would say the specs are right the pic with the 18 gauge spec is just a pic that they brought up to show the sink. Just like photo shop does all the crazy things. So go with the specs.

Does the 36” minimum base cabinet mean I must have the cabinet below the sink be 36” wide? Mine is only 35” wide. Will that not work for installing?

Hi Al, this is Meli with Kohler Co. I am happy to assist with your question. You should be able to reuse your garbage disposal if it is in good shape and runs well. You might want to replace the drain piece so you have a new drain going into a new sink. Those parts are readily available at your local hardware/plumbing store. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

Ours is brushed chrome. We like it because it hides tiny scratches. It looks really nice now and is about 4 years old.

Last night the price was $184. Please let me know if I can buy it now for that price. Thank you.

Rusts, requires high maintenance, is 301 grade steel
All the sinks I've used prior to this one worked just fine and did not develop rust spots. This is the only sink that has done this. I haven't changed any of my cleaning behaviors or kitchen habits since owning this sink. I have not abused this sink. This sink just can't handle normal use. This sink requires constant pampering and delicate treatment in order to avoid rust spots. Behaviors that I've done in the past with other sinks with no problem that I quickly learned were a big no-no with this delicate sink: (1) Leave a damp sponge on the surface, and (2) allow a gentle, nonabrasive soap to drip a little anywhere on or in this sink without wiping it up within 12 hours. Yep, those two behaviors are what produced these pictures. I noticed in the question and answer section that a customer service rep with Kohler said this sink is 301 grade stainless. 301 was developed as a cheaper alternative to 304. I will never again buy a 301 grade of stainless steel sink, as it is very fussy. When I ordered this sink, I expected that I was ordering a sink that would perform like all the other sinks I've used in my life. It did not, and I am disappointed. At least now I know why.

TheCleaningLady, my name is Jessica with Kohler Customer Service. I am sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your Verse sink. We put a lot of thought into our products, so it is unfortunate whenever we do not meet a customer's expectations. The following link is to a document which goes over how Stainless steel cannot rust on its own and it not the result of a manufacturing process nor is it considered a defect in the product as well as reviewing how to remove the rust from the product: https://bit.ly/3isSMRR. If we may assist you in any way, please contact our Customer Service team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We are here to help. - Jessica P. Kohler Customer Service.

It was easy to install and seems to be of good quality and affordable. Except, I installed it in less than month from purchasing the sink and it is already scratched. I wish the instructions would indicate to be careful washing other aluminum, stainless or metallic pots/pans in the sink because they will cause the surface of the stainless steel sink to scratch. We've learned to be careful and put a dish cloth or sponge on the bottom of the sink when washing those types of pots and pans. Now, my wife says that we should've bought the more expensive white sink. Our 30 yr. old stainless steel sink held up better; but the openings for the fixture was very dated.

Terrible sink
I have had this sink about a month now. I loved the look when it was installed. However, I had scratches in the bottom on install. Just putting in the drain. Then I have only used dish detergent in it with normal everyday dish washing . I have more scratches. I would not buy this sink again. I am sick with the price I paid and in a month I have scratches. Should have just kept my old sink. Just sick

Response from Kohler Product ExpertJun 5, 2020
Hi Dee, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm sorry to hear about the scratches on your Verse stainless steel sink. I would like to help by explaining the stainless steel material and providing suggestions on blending the scratches. Most stainless steel products will scratch from everyday use. These scratches will blend over time to create a unique finish. To blend the scratches, we recommend using a stainless steel cleaner/polish (Kohler Stainless Steel cleaner) with a nonabrasive cloth or sponge, working with, not across, the grain. We do not recommend the use of steel wool, wire brushes or abrasive sponge pads. Use only non-scratch cleaning pads. We recommend cleaning stainless steel at least once a week. Allowing water to evaporate on metal will form water deposits. To avoid this and keep your product looking beautiful, it is important to wipe the sink clean with a soft cloth after each use. For a complete list of recommended cleaning tips, follow this link: http://goo.gl/OXF7Pi. We suggest adding the K-3129-ST bottom basin rack to each side of the sink as protection to help prevent future scratches. Please email our Customer Service team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com for additional assistance. Sincerely, Sarah S. Kohler Customer Service

The bottom scratches so easy!
I haven't had this sink a week and I have several scratches on the bottom already. You would think paying more money would get you better quality...this is not the case. I've just washed basic items in this sink and the amount of scratches are insane. It was like I was taking a knife and purposely scratching it. This sink belongs in a show room, not in a everyday kitchen.

Response from Kohler Product ExpertMay 14, 2020
AshleyF, my name is Jessica with Kohler Customer Service. I am sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your Verse sink. As the manufacturer, we are very interested in supplying our customers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. I am sorry this was not your encounter. Scratches in stainless steel sinks are normal and will blend in as part of the sink over time. You can reduce minor scratching by using Kohler Stainless Steel Cleaner or Bar Keeper's Friend Soft Cleanser and a soft cloth, rubbing with the grain of the sink. We also recommend the use of bottom basin racks to help protect the basin of the sink; K-3129-ST is the recommend basin rack for this sink. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact our Customer Service team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We are happy to help! - Jessica P. Kohler Customer Service.

We bought this sink to replace an 8" deep cheaper sink we had installed 19 years ago. It is 18 gauge and the smooth surface is nice as it blends into the counter better.
