Why is this product not recommended for install inside tub/shower?

Im looking for a shelf like this to hang inside the shower but a previous answer indicated this is not recommended. Is there a safety concern? Concerns about water entering wall through screwholes? Material will not stand up to water?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Shelf. I bought this about a month ago and now have it installed while doing some renovating. This is a well made and very easy to install shelf. It also looks very nice with the chrome ancent rail around the shelf edge. You wont be dissapponted with it. I would certainly buy it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This shelf is difficult to mount to a ceramic tile... This shelf is difficult to mount to a ceramic tile because the screw holes are close together. very difficult to make level because of limited adjustment in mounting plates. Shelf is very attractive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice looking and great quality This glass shelf is terrific from the packaging to the build quality. The supports and wall brackets are heavy duty brass and metal, with the glass supports and railing having what looks like a great chrome finish. The glass is thick 5/16" tempered and polished with slightly rounded front corners to match the railing bend, and each support has 2 large set screws that hold the glass firmly in place. There are no installation instructions, but they are not really needed since the install is straightforward. What I especially like is the fact that you can locate the 2 support brackets anywhere along the length of the glass that is convenient or that you feel looks good, ie. 1" away from the end of the glass to say 2 1/2" away from the end of the glass(keeping in mind that the 2 brackets must be absolutely level with each other). Once installed properly, the brackets will be tight to the wall and the whole setup will seem sturdy and safe. The railing is extremely practical for bathroom applications. The only bad thing, which seems to be all to common with this type of fixture, is the lousy plastic anchors provided. I did not take away any stars for that lack of good sense because anyone who is familiar with these fixtures knows to use a better anchor. The provided plastic anchors will NOT hold into 1/2" drywall. I used a spring toggle in 1 hole and a plastic anchor in the other hole of each wall bracket, resulting in a nicely adjustable and super firm install.
