This model sink has our Radiant Pearl Finish which is an Easy-to-clean wear-resistant finish that helps mask scratches and scuffs that can occur over time. I would check the solution content in your purifier just to ensure water content is where you need it to be.
Stainless steel sinks do not rust, BUT may appear to. Traditional orange/red “rusty” discoloration and atmospheric stains can almost always be traced back to one of three sources:
-Iron deposits that are actually found within the water
-Steel wool pads used for cleaning that leave tiny particles which develop into rust spots
-Tin coated steel cans or cookware left in the sink while wet
The stains/spots are not part of the stainless steel; they are deposits on the surface of the sink and can be removed with cleaners containing oxalic acid. Unless pure distilled water flows from your faucet, there will be dissolved minerals and salts in your rinse water. Stainless steel is, by itself, metallurgically incapable of rusting.
How to Remove spots from your Kraus stainless steel sink:
1. Choose from one of the recommended cleaners listed below.
Recommended Cleaners:
Bar Keeper’s Friend, Bio-Clean, Bon Ami, Flitz, Maas
Nevr-Dull, Shiny Sinks Plus, Zud, Autosol Shine
2. Swab with a microfiber cloth, nylon pad, or a 3M Scotch Brite- Natural Fiber- Non- Scratch Scour Pad and soak for 5 minutes, always wiping in the direction of the grain.
3. Always rinse with clean water and dry your sink thoroughly. Please note that when rinse water evaporates, the mineral/salts are sometimes left behind. These are the same water spots you see on your car finish.
