Questions & Answers

How do you secure to the cabinet? Is it just the plumbing connections and weight of the countertop that holds it in place? Literature doesnt mention

Asked by BagonHead March 1, 2021

Hi BagonHead, Thanks for your inquiry. Below are some by step by step instructions on how to approach a Farmhouse installation: Please Note: The step-by-step guideline below is a general reference for installing the Kraus Farmhouse Sink. Please keep in mind that this is a custom installation. Kraus cannot be liable should there be any discrepancies with your installation. Kraus recommends installing all Kraus products by hiring a licensed, professional plumber. Step 1: Measures for Supports Measure the "true" height of the sink, from where the top aligns with the countertop surface to the bottom of the sink’s sides, which will rest on the supports. Transfer this measurement to the interior cabinet sides and mark a level line from back to front. This is where the supports will be added to carry the weight of the sink. Step 2: Install the Supports On each cabinet side, install 2" x 4' supports. Position the tops of the supports so that they are even with the level lines. Use construction adhesive and 1-5/8" square-drive deck screws to attach the supports. First, apply the adhesive then clamp the supports firmly in place, then drive the screws through the cabinet sides into each support. Step 3: Cut the Cabinet Front Measure the height of the sink front, and add 1/8” to this dimension when you mark the base cabinet front cutout. This allows the sink to rest just above the cut edge, without being supported by it. Depending on your base cabinet, it may be necessary to remove the doors and replace them with smaller doors. Use a jig saw to cut out the sink-front opening. Step 4: Install the Sink Test-fit the sink in the opening. The entire weight of the sink should be carried by the side supports. Check that the sink is level from side to side and front to back. If necessary, add tapered wood shims to adjust. Install the sink and use silicone caulk to fill in the gaps below the sink front, and between the sink and countertop.

Is this sink an under-mount sink? Can it be under the countertop? It is the Kraus Standart PRO ...

Can you add a garbage disposal to this sink?

Asked by yesecis28 January 5, 2021

Yes. I have had this combo for 4 years and love it.

Can I use my current garbage disposable with this sink?

Asked by Remodeler January 5, 2021

Yes, garbage disposals are 100% compatible with our sinks. Rather than install a disposal to the drain, the disposal will replace the drain as it has its own flange and mounts directly to the sink.

Can this sink be used as a top mount or flush mount to a laminate/arcylic counter top

Asked by Nana December 30, 2020

Hi Nana, Our Farmhouse sinks are best suited for solid surfaces countertop materials like marble concrete, soapstone and granite. Not well suited for laminate or tile counters which have too many weak points along seams and grout lines to support the weight of the sink. Please feel free to reach out to us at 800-775-0703 or via email at with any additional questions. Happy to assist.

Is this fingerprint resistant?

Asked by Sarah December 20, 2020

Yes it is. The top edges show water spots and I’m constantly drying them off, but fingerprints don’t show. I love the sink. I highly recommend it.

The directions say to add 1/16 inch to the dimensions of the apron. Does that mean the top of the sink will be 1/16 inch below the coutertop?

Asked by BagonHead December 19, 2020

Mine is installed below the countertop. I think the extra is for wiggle room to get it in the hole. We installed three years ago and have loved it. Angles in corners are very tight. I wish it had more curve for cleaning purposes.

Where is this sink made

Asked by Simon September 6, 2020

Curious why this won't fit in a cabinet space of 33 in. if the length is 32.88?

Asked by kiko August 3, 2020

Hi Kiko, We recommend a 36" cabinet to make sure there is enough space within the cabinet for the mounting hardware included with the sink. Please feel free to reach out to us at 800-775-0703 or via email at with any additional questions. Happy to assist. Thank you for reaching out.

Easy to Clean
We love this bar/prep sink for our client projects. Easy to clean and always pairs nicely with our design aesthetics we're blending into the space. The price point is always right on as well.

Wonderful Product for a great price
This is an excellent sink bundle for the price. It looks great, cleans easy, and was everything we were looking for. The sink is very comfortable to use, I love the faucet settings. The faucet is excellent, buttons are easy to use and don't stick. I've had this sink for 5 years now and, haven't had a single issue. My ONLY criticism is the ease which the front stainless scratches, but that's really not a surprise. I wish I had known and been a little more careful. Highly recommend, would buy again.

The New Center of Attraction in the Kitchen
Aside from the gorgeous looks, the rounded corners are easy to clean. The quality of the finish is fantastic in that it matches the rest of my stainless steel appliances. The middle divider's height is perfect for filling up half of the sink to clean dishes yet thin enough to look interesting. It definitely is a conversation starter. Future models should have three or even four holes too.

I just love it
This is one of the nicest sinks I have ever had it is beautiful.

Absolutely Love this INCREDIBLE Sink
We just installed Quartz Countertops in our kitchen, and replaced a 2 bowl, standard, shallow stainless steel sink with our new KRAUS Single Bowl 32” Undermount Stainless Steel Sink. We couldn’t be more pleased. It’s beautiful. It’s spacious. It drains well. We love the stainless steel grid. The 16 gauge stainless and soundproofing is excellent-so much more quiet that our previous sink. The look and quality of the drain and strainer, which also received many other approving comments in the reviews, is so nice we decided to use that instead of our garbage disposal, and that has worked out very well so far. Garbage disposal aren’t good for your pipes anyway, and frankly the strainer works perfectly fine. My only caution is to make sure you do not use any abrasive sponges on the sink. We have both abrasive and non-abrasive, and I mistakenly started using the wrong one. Thankfully just a few minor scratches in and area difficult to see, and I caught myself. Follow the instructions that come with the sink-use a soft cloth or sponge-and all will be fine. Thank you Kraus for an amazing and beautiful sink.

Just Installed Today--This 50-Year-Old Kitchen Is Changing!
This sink looks SO nice in my 1971 kitchen. It's large, sturdy, and is extremely nice to look at. We live in a rural area (but not necessarily a poor area), and our plumber said he believes we are the only house in the county that has a 16-gauge sink in the kitchen. Looking forward to many years of service from this really nice sink.

Rust spots?
This sink was installed yesterday. I woke up this morning to rust spots. Is this normal?

Response from Customer ServiceJun 29, 2020
We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing these stains on your new sink. I assure you, they are not rust marks. Typically, when red spots appear on a Stainless Steel Sink like ours it is simply surface discoloration. This is usually taken care of permanently with a stainless steel polish and/or cleaner when used according to the directions of the cleaning product. Products such as Bar Keeper’s friend and a fine 3M Scotch Brite pad are both great options. Please feel free to contact our customer service department directly at 1-800-775-0703, via e-mail at or simply text us directly from our website with any additional questions. Happy to assist. Best regards, Mike Kraus USA
A little disappointed
The sink is beautiful and spacious however, was only installed a month ago and we have numerous scratches on the bottom. We use the protective grates. I also made a mistake in ordering as I did not realize it was not a polished , brushed stainless steel which would hide some of that. It is a little too shiny for my taste and the water spatters do not seem to drain off. But I do just love the size of it.

Response from Customer ServiceNov 26, 2019
Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your review and feedback. We are sorry to hear that youhave experienced some scratching with this kitchen sink. Scratches are inevitable in any sink material, including stainless steel. These are merely usage scratches. Overtime, these scratches will become uniform with the sink's grain and blend into the overall finish of your sink with proper cleaning. Most minor scratches can be softened with a fine (white) 3M Scotch Britepad, or 3M Scotch Brite Natural Fiber Non-Scratch Scour Pad,accompanied by a deep cleansing agent such as Bar Keepers Friend.  However, if you do not find that this resolves your issue entirely, please contact our customer service department directly at 1-800-775-0703 or email us directly at customer service so we can look into this with you. Thank you for sharing your experience with us and giving us the opportunity to remedy the situation.

Most Elegant Side Drain Deep Bowl Sink I Found
I expended a lot of effort looking for the "right Sink" when i decided to remodel my very small kitchen, and the only location for the sink was in the corner. I could not afford to give up too much counter space and hated the idea of a D-bowl shallow depth sink. This Sink fit just perfect and is as visually appealing as it is practical. This project isn't finished but i can't wait to start using this awesome looking Sink. Thanks Kraus!
