well, they sell it for the purpose, so presumably the answer is "yes". i used it once for the propose, but i only used the pressure spray and did not use the chemicals or the brush attachment - i wash my cars with a car wash solution. and yes, *improperly used* a power washer can damage a car. for example, if you put the high pressure nozzle an inch from a rubber gasket or the edge of a convertible top or the edge of a tail-light is rather unwise. the brush seemed to be soft enough, but some people won't use anything but freshly laundered cotton cloth on their cars. so (as with any product), caveat emptor.
