Product Overview

The Keeper 12 ft. Desert Camo Ratchet Tie-Down features a durable 1 in. nylon webbing to absorb shock and to resist rot and abrasion. The operation is simple and straightforward. The ratchet buckle is designed with a rotating gear and lever mechanism latch to tighten and secure your load. To engage, thread the webbing through the center slot of the rotating spool, then pull through to desired tension leaving a bit of slack and lastly, rachet by raising and lowering the handle. The webbing then locks into place to secure your cargo.

Very nicely done product. Much easier to use than my present tie-down straps which were showing some significant wear. At 1 inch wide, these aren't super heavy-duty, but more than sufficient for most loads. The comfortable handle, a unique feature, makes ratcheting the strap an effortless process. Likewise, the thumb release lever makes disengaging the strap a snap! Highly recommended.

I helped my sister move this past weekend and these straps came in great. They are light weight and very easy to use. I have had many straps in my lifetime but this was my first set with a ratcheting handle bar. Personally I like this set better then the typical U shaped handles. The handle is smooth and very easy to ratchet. These straps seem very durable. My sister was very worried about moving her stuff but I was confident with these straps. I was able to get them nice and tight and they held everything together perfectly. I like the release mechanism, it is a standard strap release design but very easy to use and feels very sturdy. They feel durable, I believe they will last awhile. If you need a good set of straps you should try these out. They worked great for me. I believe they would work great for you too.

If you have a truck you will sometimes need tie down straps. I've used ropes before and you can never seem to tie it tight enough. These straps are of good quality and the ratcheting mechanism works well. It locks down whatever you need to lock down from moving. I like the little ratchet level. It is quality made and doesn't bend or fail like other cheap brands. Lucky for me, I get to move my daughters furniture out of her apartment from college. That will be soon. If I have any adjustments to my review, I'll update it. But I'm expecting to have no problems.

I’ve used ratchet straps for years. The handles on these straps make it much easier to tighten the device, and the release mechanism is a breeze. The package included 4 straps, so two of them are in my SUV for easy access when I need to haul things on the roof. The other two are used for storing and organizing items in my garage. The camouflage print will make them great for outdoor use.

This set of tie down straps is comparable to many straps available on the market. The unique features of this set include the Desert Camo nylon webbing and Mini Pistol Grip Ratchet Handle. The large hooks are vinyl coated which will help with oxidation of the hook surface. The hook material has a 5/16 diameter thickness and will securely hook to many objects. The rotating gear and lever mechanism are well made, and they work well to tighten and secure the strap. I didn’t have any problems tightening or releasing the gear to loosen the strap. I am not sure if the Pistol Grip is better or worse for tightening the strap. It’s different when compared to your standard open handle. The pistol grip works like a lever, and I think it would be easier to use if it were longer allowing you to get your whole hand around the grip increasing leverage. The 1-inch wide durable strap and 500 lbs. working load limit make these tie downs great for securing smaller loads. I personally like the Camo design; it will make it easy to get my straps back after lending them out to family and friends.

Ratcheting straps are one of those things you can never really have enough of. And when you amass a few different sets you start to see flaws in the cheap ones. Whether it be in ease of using the keeper or the quality of the stitching at the sewn points or in the design of the 'S' hook at the end. First thiing I noticed about this set of four is that these are HEAVY. Heavy in this case means more and beefier steel components. The 'S' hooks at the ends of the straps are designed so that they couldn't easily slip off a tie down hook. There is also a lot more webbing on this tie down set - 12 feet versus the usual 8 or so. What that allows me to do is not only tie a ladder or kayak down, but I can wrap around those items once or twice as well meaning they are fully secured. I also like the handle design - you can get your palm around the handle instead of just using a couple of fingers - that also makes it easier to tighten just that little more to release the keeper when it's time to undo your load. My only teeny issue would be with the camouflage pattern on the webbing. I know sportsmen like this sort of thing but I think if you're tying down a 4x4 or motorcycle or ladder or whatever that is should be brightly colored so it can be seen. Despite that these are quality tie downs that should last.

I have a DiamondBackHD that covers the bed of the truck that also can be used to carry either 2 ATV’s or one UTV up to a max weight of 1,600 lbs. The cover comes with 12 cleats to secure the vehicles to the cover. By using the ratching tie-down straps I will be able to tie the ATV’s to the cleats. I’m able to secure one or two ATV’s to the top of the metal cover.

This looks to me like a new concept in how handle is built with a stick for cranking instead of a standard d-ring. It took me a second to realize that when first using it. when I pulled keeper back to set for loosening it actually got caught back and I had to work it back to catch gear. I use tie downs a lot and will use these when the need arises. I'd consider on my next purchase to go back to standard d-ring lever though.

First of all let me start off by saying that the construction in these ratchet straps are very well-made and you can tell that they were going to last you a very long time, definitely not something of cheap quality. The construction of the nylon itself the weave is top notch. The protective coating on the metal very well made. I use a lot of scraps at work and on my jeep especially when I go out riding the trails and I can tell the cheap ones and the good ones , these are the better quality ones . They are a more expensive then most , but definitely worth the money...
