While only 1 inch in width these straps are strong enough to secure probably 4x times more than rated weight. The reason you get them from Home Depot is because you will pay double price for them at trailer renting site when you need them. By some reason they don't rent the straps with a trailer and ask you to buy them from their store. People also use them to secure large large loads inside minivans and suvs. Hooks are small enough to go into net anchors at the back and seat anchors at the front. You need to be carefool not to uproot net attachment anchors. Ratchets are well made have 3 springs each and provide good leverage to create strong tension. You get 2x14 feet straps in one package, enough to secure lawn tractor on medium utility trailer and more than enough to secure large items in your minivan or suv. Half a year ago I took unused tile boxes back to warehouse and regretted that I didn't have straps to secure them. During hard deceleration one the boxes slid damaging plastic seat base in my SUV.

I ordered and received the Keeper brand 4-pack of 1 in. x 14 ft. tie downs for securing one of our small flats boats when trailering. I’ve used these ratchet style tie downs before and the Keeper brand is a very good quality, high tensile strength tie down. The Keeper brand is rated at 500 pounds, which will handle any light to medium load. For years I used transom tie downs, but inevitably the transom style tie downs would rub against the gel coat which really bothered me, so I tried the ratchet style across the back of the boat and it works just as well. I especially like the oversized ratchet handles which make it very easy to secure your load. In summary, this is a very good product that makes securing your load very easy as well as releasing the tension when the job is done. I have added a few pictures of the product below. I use these products and I would recommend them.

I have purchased several sets of racheting tie downs over the years for securing cargo on my 4'x8' trailer and in the back of my pickup as well as securing my kayaks when transporting them. The Keeper 1"x14' Combat Tie Down 4-Pack seems pretty much like your basic run of the mill tie down set from my point of view. That being said the mfr. claims that the strapping is much more abrasion and cut resistant than its competitors so perhaps I am wrong. However my issues have never been with strap failure. They are predominantly from corrosion and failure of the rachet mechanism (which is the reason I ordered these - I do a lot of salt water kayaking). The tie downs are well built with a rubber coating on the end hooks and the racheting handles have a beefy plastic material cover - both of these features are good for protecting your vehicle finish. The straps have a 500 lb load limit (very high rating for a 1" strap). I unpackaged and tested one of the units and it worked well with no apparent issues. I really do not anticipate using these until the weather warms up so my review is somewhat toothless. Not being able to really test them out is also my reason for only a GOOD rating. From a price stand point these tie downs are double the cost of the economy set I just tossed but the latter only lasted a couple of summers so I'm hoping you get what you pay for. These have the look and feel (the rachet mechanism works smoothly with no play or binding) of a long lasting tool/device that I hope I can count on for years.

Comfortable Handle. Smooth Operation. Perform Excellent. Selected for a variety of uses. Most often securing items to hand truck or dollies. Like the coated non-marking hooks, loop for securing hooks, & large handle. Also used for securing loads in pick-up and on trailers. Keeper Ratchet Tie Downs work well- smoothly ratchet tight, release easily. Like the strong, not overly abrasive, little stretching straps which makes them very good for secure tight attaching. Have to watch placement of ratchet handle if strap isn’t tight as handle can bounce about. Still, Keeper Ratchet Tie Downs exceeded expectations after almost a months use for a variety of tie down tasks. Highly recommend these well designed comfortable smooth operating tie downs.

Great straps with a key innovation. Love the straps and the perform perfectly but what I really like is the fact that they have a little loop near the end with the hook. There have been several times when you are trying to loop the hook around the strap and make a semi-choker. On these straps they have added that loop on the end so you can essentially hook the hook back onto the strap without have to do a makeshift choker that may or may not hold. I think that is brilliant and long overdue. Lastly, the handles on the cranks are nice and big and easy to use. All around a great set of straps.

Keeper 1 in. x 14 ft. Combat Ratchet Tie Down (4-Pack), Black are well made. The webbing is flexible yet maintains its shape due to the abrasion and cut resistant coating. The edges of the webbing are bonded with a similar hard plastic coating for wear resistance which also contributes to the shape holding. The hooks are vinyl coated and 5/16-inch diameter and 1/2-inch inside radius after coating, plenty strong. I appreciate the sewn in loop near the far end that lets you loop the webbing around the hold point and hook back on the run, very nice for a soft connection or no hook point. The ratchet mechanism is typical but with a 2 ½ inch wide handle and a 4-inch leverage. Not hard to tighten these up. The edges of the handles are plastic edged to avoid cuts and marring. Overall a good set of tie downs.

The Keeper ratchet tie downs are great! They are easy to use. Th strap is 1 inch wide and very strong. I'm a painter and I use these to strap down anything. I have a set of extension ladders on the roof of my van. These keep them secure to the ladder rack. I don't have to worry about them coming loose while I'm driving. They are easy to put on and remove I highly recommend them.

I was using the cheaper ratchet straps to secure my riding mower on the trailer. I also use them to secure lumber and other things I needed to haul on the trailer. I’ve noticed two of the old ones starting to fray so I went to my local Home Depot and looked at my options. I decided to get these because of the 500 lb. capacity. Also the straps are a little wider than the old ones but still narrow enough for me. I really like the ratchet handles with the angular grip. The handles are solid and stout. The release lever is made so one finger can pull it up evenly making it easier to release. For me I prefer the S-hooks over the flat bar type hooks. May trailer has holes predrilled so I can put anchor the S-hook it. The 14’ length is ideal for me, this way I don’t have a lot of excess strap to deal with once the mower or other material is secured to the trailer. I would recommend these straps.

These Keeper 1 inch x 14 foot ratchet straps are good for a 500 pound load . This is a 4 pack . I have to say these are the best quality ratchet straps i own. The have an extra loop sewn into them so you can easily convert into a soft loop. I will say i do have a set of these with a higher rating and the use a d ring for this purpose it seems nicer. These combat ratchet straps have large handles making it easier to use. All in all great strap . cannot go wrong with these.

These ratchet straps are top of the line. I love them. The packaging, however, is a bear to open. Have a pick and hook set ready to pull away and release the plastic tabs that secure the straps in place. Then you’ll have to snap out the plastic molding from the handle. These straps have a nice wide handle, are labeled with the load rating right in the stitching, and generally have a great appearance. These are superior general-purpose straps, in that the edges are treated with a ultra-durable hard plastic fiber coating. I do like that there are detailed instructions in the back, as well general warnings. These meet/exceed all DOT requirements, which gives peace of mind.
