I bought 8 bags of these already and put on my raised garden bed and I just saw other people's comment that this is not the correct soil for raised garden bed. Do you have any solution what is can do so my flower's will not die. Thank you. Please answer asap.

I mixed mine with soil already in the bed which I dig down deep every year in my raised beds which aren't but about 4 inches off the ground anyways and then topsoil nothing added to it, then this, I don't know that your flowers will die, hopefully since you posted this they have been fine.

I used this product to amend heavy clay soil while planting an azalea bush and transplanting several perennials. I mixed this product 50/50 with the existing soil (as directed) to a depth of less than a foot due to tree roots in the area. I did not fertilize the azalea bush or the transplanted perennials, but I noticed some granular fertilizer already in the azalea's pot that made its way into the soil bed. Suffice to say all the plants are thriving one month later with nothing additional except for regular watering on my part. However, as Kellogg states, this is NOT a stand-alone garden soil product. It is a soil amendment much like peat moss (only better in my estimation). Many of the one-star reviews are from people who didn't understand this at first use. Therefore, I must deduct a star from my review for poor product labeling. But make no mistake, this is a first-rate garden soil amendment. I plan to use it to amend the soil in a future rose bed and as a mulch. Thank you, Kellogg, for an outstanding product. My plants love it!

Opening the bag, it seemed like good organic material. Actually mixed with other soil and used in large containers despite the indication on the back that is not suitable for containers. I sample the soil regularly for fertility and pH. pH hovers around 6.8-7, which isn't bad for our flowers and some vegetables. Fertility is surprising not that good. Been augmenting the soil with our own compost and assorted other soil conditioners. It's mid-June and while vegetables (tomato, lettuce, cucumbers, herbs, carrots, peas) seem to be doing well, time will tell. We're also gardening at high altitude (8,000'), which has its own challenges. Will check back in as the season progresses.

Being a novice at gardening, I didn't know too much.... This is ALL MULCH!!! Same goes for their potting soil which I bought 4 bags of! I transferred seedlings and none grew bigger! Any seeds I planted took forever to germinate (only few) and remained teeeny for weeks....just not growing bigger than 1/2 an inch tall! All other plants I have planted in soil from last year (different brand) and thriving! Same plants, same location where I have them, different soil, completely different health conditions! DON'T BUY THIS STUFF! Waste of money, time and energy!

We purchased 15 bags to start (all that would fit in my car), to help build up the soil level in all of the flower beds along our fence lines. I have read thru all of the reviews to date and did not experience any large wood chunks, foreign objects or a single piece of plastic, in any of the bags. Very clean. The soil, as others have said, looks dark & rich. Small pieces of wood, nothing large at all or even the larger size found in mulch. In fact, I intend to mulch over this. Every bag has been very consistent and has spread easily. And I agree with another poster, not one bag had mildew, like many soils and even mulches do. I will be getting more to finish the beds and also to mix some in my pots, for new plants that I purchased. For me, the product and the price were very good.

I think since it is "organic" it might not have glyphosate residue which I think might be more common in yard clipping composted soil, which I suspect is the case with the garden soil with pieces of plastic in it. I really wish people would stop using glyphosate (Roundup) as it doesn't break down in the soil; it spoils the soil when it comes to trying to build up a microbiome. Just dumb, but Monsanto, et al., need to keep the money rolling in; too bad they don't care about the big picture. I do like Home Depot, but I wish they'd research this and consider discontinuing Roundup and similar products.

I have using it for the past 2 years and it has worked really well in my vegetable, and flower garden. It has a good balance of fine wood product, and some coarser material which aides in good microorganism activity. This makes the soil healthy, and improves the structure of the soil which makes plant growth flourish. I have also used the soil organic raised bed product, and potting soil. I would highly recommend all of their products, and will get great results in all your garden beds.

Bought 4 bags at local Home Depot... did not read bag stating that it needs to be mixed with "native" soil. Used it to fill hole in lawn and to plant tree seedlings. This was done in May. Fertilized trees and watered consistently. Most have died... grass has not grown on area this stuff was used on lawn. Large amount of wood fragments does not hold water. Complete garbage in my opinion...Going to replant remaining trees that show small signs of life with real soil. Do not recommend and will never buy product again. Lesson learned.

I mean overall the soil does have natural fertilizer from poultry and such but it is rather mulchlike and large clumps of animal droppings were also noted in all 5-6 bags I bought. I mixed it with topsoil/potting soil already in raised beds. Plants seem to like it okay but with the large clumps of manure this is a slight issue. Bags I bought last year were a little better on the breakup of the materials used.
