When I received the rods, the end caps were already screwed on to two of the rods. Unfortunately, it is not clear what that setup would do. To clarify, there are two rods that are larger in inside diameter than the third rod. This smaller diameter third rod is intended to be the center rod if you need all three to span your distance. In my instance, the end caps (finials) were attached to one end of one of the larger diameter rods and to the smaller diameter rod. This would be the configuration you need if you only needed two of the rods for your span. The smaller diameter rod slides into the larger diameter rod. There is nothing to hold them together (not even friction, since they slide into each other freely) except for the center support, which you absolutely NEED in either the two rod configuration or three rod configuration. If you need all three rods, you just need to figure out which two are the larger diameter ones and attach the finials to one end of each of those two and then slide the center into the open ends of each outer rod. So, in summary, two rods are the same diameter and one is narrower. Each rod has a closed end and an open end. The closed end has a screw hole for the finials. In a three rod setup, the two larger outer rods would have the finials screwed into the closed end and the narrower rod slides into each open end.

Is possible for the finial to screw off and connect two rods together to make extra long?

Hello and thank you for your inquiry, no the finials do not come off and we do not recommend to attempt to combine two curtain rods together. If you require to accommodate a larger space we advise to purchase the correct size rod so you can properly install you curtains.

What is best rod to use for three panels with only bracke on the ends (over a 72 inch width)

Good Morning and thank you for your inquiry regarding the Kenney Weaver Indoor/Outdoor Curtain Rod, unfortunately for the width that you are planning to install this curtain rod the center support is required for proper installation. How we recommend to have curtains installed is utilizing 4 panels instead of three as the width of the window requires this. This will allows you to have 2 panels on either side of the center support allowing you to open the curtains with ease and when the curtains are shut you can hide the center support with the two center panels. Hope this helps.

Hello and thank you for your inquiry regarding the Kenney Weaver 72-144 inch Adjustable Indoor/Outdoor Rust-Resistant Single Curtain Rod. This curtain rod would require the use of two panels when utilizing the center support as you wouldn't be able to glide the single panel from the left side of the window all the way to the right as the center support would be in the way.

Hello and thank you for your inquiry, you can purchase a secondary rod and have two separate installations. The fact that the finials/end caps are flat you can install them close together that the gap will not be large to be noticeable.

Answer

I just received this rod today. It’s three separate pieces, and best I can determine (it’s not shown how to set the rod up in the sparse instructions, only the brackets) you have the option to use only two (in which case it “telescopes” from one end), the smallest length being 51” actually, or all three, in which case it “telescopes” from either end. I needed a longer length and that means the gap between the two larger poles on the ends is visible in my run. Kinda disappointed about this and wish it had been indicated in the instructions before I ordered. Hope this helps.

Is the Kenny "Weaver" curtain rod the same as "Tropez'?

Asked by Deedee September 7, 2020

Answer

Hello and thank you for your inquiry regarding the Kenney Weaver Curtain Rod and it's relevancy to our Tropez collection. Tropez is a specific collection/style of rust-resistant indoor/outdoor curtain rods that Kenney has. We have the 5/8" diameter rods under this collection which are the Adler single curtain rods and Adler double curtain rods and the 1" diameter rods which the Weaver falls under. Hope this helps.

Great rod
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this rod above my basement walk out patio doors and it looks very nice. Sturdy and strong enough to hand the curtain panels I wanted. It also looks very nice, sleek and not to big and gaudy. I love it!

You absolutely need the third bracket
Whether you just need two rods for your span, or all three, you will need to install the center bracket to keep the rods together, the smaller diameter "center" rod slides easily into the open end of a larger diameter rod in a two rod configuration or the end open end of both larger diameter rods in a three rod configuration. Nothing holds them together except keeping them supported in the middle so the entire run in horizontal. They do what they need to do, which is hold my curtains, but opening and closing the curtains is precarious as you have to be very careful not to get hung up on the seam and pull the rods apart. There was at least one little rubber gasket/washer thing in the package that looks like it *might* be able to be used on the center rod and pushed into the gap (the gasket is kind of angled on one side), but I couldn't get it to work. Instructions other than how to screw in brackets would've been nice.
