There is a tube at one end where you can fill it with a hose (there is no connection). The bottom of the tub can be filled and will last several days depending on the weather. There is a platform that keeps the soil above the water. There is also a drain if you need to use it.

Thoughtful design and well executed product. This second one took me less than 15 minutes to assemble. Great product for a patio gardener. Plants are growing like crazy. Self watering feature reduces maintenance time. We're in central Florida and use it inside our screen enclosure.

Very easy to assemble. It is unclear to me if/how the water indicator works since it hasn’t changed position at all but I’m capable of checking the status myself without relying on the indicator. I give this five stars because it is durable, does the job I need it to, fits the space perfectly, and looks nice too. Worth the money if you don’t want to break your back gardening and/or want a nice looking planter/garden on your patio.

Excellent product for small porches, lanai and Florida rooms. We have several tomato plants and peppers growing ours that are thriving after only 2 weeks. The self watering under the planter helps keep the soil moist for the roots without constant watering that can cause oversaturation of the soil.

Please...give it a good 6 months, and then post a review! Leaked after 6 months!
Okay folks....growing tired of all the people posting reviews immediately after they receive and set-up their product. "Oh...look at my wonderful pictures of my new herb garden with the freshly planted vegetables!" Of course it's gonna look great out of the box with freshly planted herbs! How about posting an honest review 6 months to a year after the fact. After all, we're not purchasing a "Temporary herb garden." Here's the honest scoop. I live in the Arizona Desert, and the garden is underneath my patio. No direct sunlight. It was also filled about 1/2 way with soil, so not at capacity. Yeah...looked great after about 6 months. After 6 months, here's what you can expect.: Water started to leak out of the front. It's starts with one leak and then multiplies. I now have 4 separate leaks. Herbs start to die. Some do well, some die immediately. "But what about the pictures on-line? Yeah...those are just pictures. I think the water meetering system is just off and the garden gets too much water. I've seen the leaf meeter all the way down, and the soil is still moist. I've had two separate pots of basil die in this. Yes...basil, which is supposed to be bomb proof in the AZ desert. Nothing "Easy Grow" about this. I'm going to try and warranty this out. Not sure what I would do different with a new one. Maybe line the inside with tar? Just don't want to contaminate my herbs and vegetables.
