When smoke is detected, the red LED light will flash in time with the loud 85-decibel alarm to help you seek safety. A test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as silence nuisance alarms, should they occur. In addition, it's self-testing and easy to install with the included twist-and-click mounting bracket. This Kidde smoke alarm is equipped with an end-of-life notifications that will beep to remind you it's time to replace it at the of its 10-year lifespan. Meets requirements of 9th Edition UL 217 and FCC. Does not meet requirements for CSFM.

Hello. No, Kidde alarms don't work with Gentex alarms and our alarms don't have relay contacts and are not commercially rated.
Does this use a different mount design than other Kidde detectors like the i9010 sealed 10 yr smoke detector? Can older mounts be used with this one?
Yes! I had to drill two new holes per each new detector. You can't even reuse 1 of the two old holes as the other one will be visible. So annoying. Not even a provision in the bracket to reuse old holes.
Hello. This alarm uses a different mounting bracket then the older alarms like the I9010 and the mounting bracket will have to be replaced. If you want an alarm with a 10 year sealed battery, you will want the 30CUD10 model 21031514
Doesthe Battery warranty of 10 years start from purchase date or from manufacturing date? What is the manufacturing date for this product on sale?
From the date of activation most stores only keep them in the shelf for about 6 months
The battery warranty is the alarm warranty which is based on date of purchase. You will want to keep a digital copy of the receipt or invoice and/or staple a copy to the owner's manual.

If the battery does die, say after 7 years, is it replaceable?
If the alarm goes into low battery or error mode, call us with the alarm in hand at 1-800-880-6788 with the alarm in hand and we can help you from there. The battery is not replaceable but the alarm is warrantied for 10 years, including the battery.
