They are warrantied for 10 years... The batteries 3-AA don't 10 years. Although some fire alarms do have Li-Ion battery that last ten years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They were very easy to set up attach and put... They were very easy to set up attach and put into use. I bought three for each level of the house. Now all I need is a CO2 generator or fire to get to know if they work. I guess they will, should, hope. Unfortunately they all look like one on the Wink App, so one or three for one. I gave 5 stars because I couldn’t really find a complaint, except testing. Of coarse, I couldn’t test the replaced unit either over the years I had them installed. They do talk, and if so why not a status report with a Wink or Alexa prompt, like “Alexa, ask wink for a fire alarm status report”, “Alexa, what is the fire alarm status”. Then Alexa checks in with Wink, and Wink reports to Alexa battery percentage, room temp, and CO2 percent, and Alexa tells me or the unit does. I know for that, I would have to buy the more expensive model.... Hey!, this IS the more expensive model. I hope they work!!. OR better yet build an Alexa that is a glass break sensor, fire alarm, CO2 detector, win a Z-wave hub. It could even look like a fire alarm, mount on the wall. I know, power.

We bought them because we were required by code to have interconnected smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and these are some of the few battery operated ones on the market. They go through batteries very quickly (about every 3-4 months), which I suppose is to be expected from the wireless feature. We've had these nearly two years. After about 15 months of use, they began going off randomly, at random times. This happens about once a month. Sometimes one in a bedroom behind a closed door will start alarming. The batteries are fine, nothing has changed in the room, but the alarm is going off. It's extra fun when this happens in the middle of the night. When the random alarm goes off, the interconnected feature does NOT work. Only one alarm goes off, not all the detectors in the house. When tested, the interconnected feature still works (i.e. when I press the test button, all detectors in the house cycle through the alarms), but this makes me dubious the interconnected feature would work in case of an actual alarm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Easy to Install I installed 2 of these alarms in my home. 1 in each of my kids bedrooms. before you start you need to pair any alarms before you install them. This is just so if 1 alarm goes off, they all go off. you just set the code pad found in the battery compartment and then they are set and ready to use. these also have voice notifications as well. to install you just need to insert a single drywall screw for the mount and just twist the alarm into place. quick and easy. these have been in place for over a month and I have not had to replace the batteries. requires 3 AA batteries which are included.

I bought three of these worthless things and spent a pretty penny so that I could link them up to the Wink system. Bottom line? I should have bought Nest, not these worthless things. Two of them were malfunctioning from the start as they immediately started failing pretty much right out of the box. Third ones would fail whenever cooking hamburgers, roasts, steaks, pretty much anything with the slightest hint of smoke. I finally had enough tonight and smashed two of them on my back patio that couldn't shut up when we were trying to put our daughter down for the night. These are the WORST SMOKE DETECTORS EVER. If you have these, I'm sorry. If you're thinking about purchasing them, then you better stick to microwaved meals or else you're going to have them go off all the time, constantly. What a huge waste of money. That's 100 bucks of my hard earned money I'll never get back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great peace of mind. Easy to set up! Really like these. Took no time at all to set up. If you have a multi story home these give you peace of mind. I have a hard time waking up and I've always been concerned about what would happen if there was a fire or excess CO in the basement while I was sleeping on the 2nd floor. Especially since I tend to close the door to the basement as well as my basement door. Each unit can detect smoke or carbon monoxide. If there's a fire you'll have both so the voice prompt will only say "Fire". Kidde has a long history in this field. I'm not the type of guy that cares who's name is on my jeans but when it comes to things that can save my life, brands matter to me. Now I have one of these in the 2nd floor hallway outside the bedrooms and one in the basement just outside the utility room. If something triggers the alarm in the basement, either smoke or carbon monoxide, the alarm in the 2nd floor hallway will also start making noise. In addition to the piercing alarm sound, a voice tells you if the alert is for fire or carbon monoxide. After installing the detectors I could tell right away that the communication was working fine after pressing the test button. From the basement I was able to faintly hear the 2nd floor alarm and vice versa. There's a slight delay in the other alarm after the first one triggers so you can hear the alarm in the distance during the pauses of the triggered alarm. I was very impressed at how easy it was to set up. Read the instructions for proper placement then set the code using the dip switches in the battery compartment. Using a pen or pencil just come up with some random code on one of the units and then set up the same code on all the others. Don't leave the default code in case there's someone else nearby using the same Kidde wireless smoke detectors. Then just install the included 3 AA batteries in each unit and test them one by one. All the alarms should sound when you trigger one and you can have up to 12 working together. Very easy to install too. One small plastic mounting stud gets attached to your ceiling (or wall) with a single screw that is included in the packaging, along with a plastic drywall anchor. Then just slide the detector on the post and rotate to a visually pleasant orientation. I find it easier than the standard 2 screw mounts where you try and blindly insert one screw then the other. Batteries must be installed or the detector won't mount to the wall. It would have been nice if the voice alert could tell you which detector had tripped but for small installations it should be easy to figure out. If I am woken in the middle of the night by the fire alarm and pass the one in the 2nd floor hallway without seeing smoke I can safely assume it's in the basement. Really, you shouldn't care where the alarm is coming from. Your main concern should be getting out. I'll eventually get one to replace the CO/Smoke detector on the first floor two but my main concern was having the two most distant locations connected. These detectors can only work with the same model of wireless Smoke and CO detectors. They won't connect with other wireless alarms from Kidde. This is only an issue if you already have other wireless detectors installed that you don't want to replace. For me it wasn't an issue. Can connect with a Wink home automation HUB to send you alerts remotely but I don't have one to test it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect safety system for the whole house Among all other Kidde's fire alarms, this one has the best and easiest installation mechanism. A major plus of this alarm is that it detects both fire and carbon mono oxide, Second plus is that it has a voice alarm along with beeps that clearly identifies the threat. The third and most important plus is that all these alarms are interconnected wireless . It creates such a ruckus that everyone will be up and running out in seconds. I am very happy and feel a lot safer with these alarms. Although would have preferred 9 volts batteries as they last longer instead of 3 AA batteries which come included with the alarms. It can also be used with Wink Connected Home Hub.

Our 25 year old smoke detectors finally died, (yes, I know I should have replaced them years ago). I liked the idea of having smoke detectors that would all go off at once if I wanted them to, so I bought this 3 pack. I was amazed at how easy it was to set the 3 smoke detectors to the same "pin" settings. My suggestion would be to open up all the smoke detectors and set the pins BEFORE putting the batteries in. The pins are behind the battery compartment so I had to remove them to set the "pins". Also, as a 57 year old female with less than optimal eyesight and not so nimble fingers, I used an extra light and a little magnifying glass to be certain I had all the pins set correctly. A small little tool, like a pen or eyeglass screwdriver would help with the pin setting too. After you set the pins to the same positions in all the smoke detectors, put the batteries in. Next, prepare yourself for some fun as you test the detectors to be certain they are properly synced. (You may want ear plugs for this.) So that I would know all 3 detectors were synced before I put them up, I placed one on my kitchen counter, one on the coffee table in the living room and the third on my dining room table. I then pressed the button on the first detector and the Magic began. The detector actually spoke and alarmed, it was cool. All 3 alarms sounded. But, since I can be a little worry wart, I proceeded to test the second detector, then the third. I know, it was a little overkill, but I wanted to be sure they all were synced. My husband installed the 3 smoke detectors and claimed "they were easier to install than the first ones". He is honest about these things, so I trust that installation was a breeze. I was impressed when I read the directions for installation because it said how to make sure they all face the same direction by aligning arrows. When I cook I tend to set off smoke detectors, don't judge me I just don't have cooking talent. Fortunately, my husband is retired and does most of the cooking. BUT, for those instances I do cook and make smoke, these detectors have a little pause or delay button that prevents them from sounding for I think 8 minutes, enough time to clear my smoke. I'm not positive with the delay time, but I am pretty sure it is 8 minutes. My husband and I both love these new smoke detectors. They look nice, have a voice and alarm to wake very sound sleepers, and work; plus they were reasonably priced! Who could ask for anything more?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Device. Connecting numbers of this devices are great and effective. I like it how it looks really nice and easy to setup. But I am disappointed with connection with Wink device. It disconnect all the time, I think it is fault of Wink hub. Not with this device. I would not recommend if you are looking to connect it to Wink hub. This concept is great, but unreliable and Wink hub does not have way to individually connect to hub even you have multiple of this (more than 1).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful product! I really like this two-in-one alarm system. It's good to know you are not only protected from fire/smoke situations, but carbon monoxide as well. The wireless interconnected feature is great as well; in case there is an alarm situation in your residence all the alarms will go off at the same time so you'll be able to hear them on different floors, which gives you enough time to escape should that be necessary. I obtained two of these alarms and the installation was very easy. They come with a very detailed booklet that not only describes the alarm installation and features, but also about carbon monoxide prevention, fire prevention, etc. So far I've only used the test button to make sure the alarms work and are interconnected. Of course, I hope that they will also be reliable should there ever be a real fire/CO situation in my residence. For now I feel quite safe with these alarms installed in my house.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good features, room for improvement I bought two of these with the $1 Wink Hub offer. Downloaded the Wink iPhone app and installation was straightforward. The features that made this purchase decision were: Networked alarms, Voice alarm, iPhone notification. The iPhone notification seems to work as advertised. Of course, you are relying on your internet connection being available, so this is a nice-to-have, not a safety feature. The warning beep is clearly audible, but the voice that says "Fire" or "Carbon Monoxide" is a whisper compared to similar alarm products. The networking seems to work in that the second device also alarms (up 12 devices). Unfortunately, it does not tell you which of the 12 areas to look in for the fire or CO gas. I guess I expected an additional four dip switches to select messages like "Kitchen", "Attic","Bedroom 3", etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great Its a great alarm no problems at all. Only downfall was the "ok" light strobes brightly. I have this installed in my hallway and when I'm going down it in the middle of the night it catches me off guard and stuns me and ruins my night vision.

The wireless connection was exactly what we needed and these are on all 3 floors and connect without issue. Easy setup and install with one screw. Tested one set off, and it will set all 3 off. Which I think everyone needs because you are not going to hear an alarm 3 floors away while sleeping etc. Hoping that the technology does work in an actual event while sleeping, but I believe this is still the best bet (bang-for-buck) for safety. I still have all my other separate smoke and CO alars, and while I am not home, my Leeo device listens for alarms and calls me in an event. Do not mess around. For ~$100 (daily deal) it is worth it. Even regular price is worth saving a life and possibly a house/building.

Kidde Battery Operated Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Combination Detector with Wire-Free Interconnect and Voice Alarm (2-pack). The Package Had 5 Batteries Instead Of 6, Annoying, But Not A Problem. The Units Wireless Interconnect Is A Nice Feature, Although It Took A Little While To Understand The Dip Switch Settings For Unit Synchronization. So, The Units Have Been Installed For 1 Month ~, And I Hope To Never Have A Bad Review!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Distance Matters for out building We have multiple buildings on our lot. I bought these so I would know if there was a fire in another building soI would be alerted about a fire. It does work but it has limits. One building is about 100 feet away and it works flawlessly with the second building. A third building is 150 feet away from the other two and that one does not get the alert. I just bought another set, figuring they daisy chain the signal, if so I can get it to work by adding another unit in a small shed I have between the other two buildings. I will update my comments once I test if that works or not.

Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms that are linked and all alarm at the same time when one is set off, and battery operated -- no wiring. Also, I like that they use AA batteries instead of 9V batteries like the old style smoke only.

When I checkout, happy to get it for $0.01 ( I got 2 pairs). I got home and put it to test. Simulated by burning a paper with a lot of smoke. The smoke and fire died down 3x before it went off. Not good. Installed it anyways. Should I return a freebie
