Is this also a smoke alarm?

Asked by: Superd
No. It's a CO detector only. Not a dual purpose detector.

When it say it can be "interconnected" does that mean this particular Co detector can be wired to detect smoke?? I have one that looks just like this one. It clearly say Co detector but the owner states it is a dual alarm, that it was wired for both.

I currently have a KN-COSM-IBA that is defective (Alarm keeps going off even though there is no smoke or Co and new batteries in place). I have other units of the same model. Is this compatible with the other units that i have in the system?.

Can it be run on batteries only? It is not compatible with the hardwiring in my house. Can I just use batteries in it?

Asked by: Jordan
I am not sure how it could not be compatible with the wiring in your home. It works on A/C current. You only need to connect the hot and neutral wires. The red wire is for communicating with other units, but it is not necessary for it to operate. But if it is so I would recommend buying a plug-in model instead of using the on battery only as it will drain the battery quickly.
