We bought a house in March, 2017, with hard wired smoke detectors. One is constantly beeping and the button only works for 30 minutes or so. I changed the battery. What do I need to do to stop the beeping? There are 2 in the house and the other one is not beeping. What do I need to do?
Asked by: Sonja
Yes mine was doing the same ! I changed the batteries and that didn't work so when I looked further into it they were the same age as the house 2003. So they needed replaced ,but I don't understand why just one went off and not the other . Ours were all tied together. I hope this is helpful.

My smoke alarm was installed in 2001. Some of my alarms are original and others have been replaced at some point. My detectors keep going off. I replaced all of the alarms with new batteries and I am still experiencing all of my detectors going off at random intervolves. It seems to be random anywhere from 3 to 10 minutes. All detectors have green lights. Some of the detectors have red lights flashing. Please help. Thanks Lujack

My smoke alarms keep beeping even though it unplug?
Asked by: Watchdog
Their might be a small capacitor in this unit that stores a small amount of energy as I unplugged and removed the battery and had the unit chirp in my hand . I pushed the button on the unit to make it chirp and also to drain what little energy it had left . After that no more chirp . Then I replaced the unit
