This is the same carbon monoxide model I original had installed. It lasted 12 years and always
worked. It was simple to replace and came with a 9 Volt battery.

Excellent unit, easy to install.
I chose this model for a variety of reasons. It runs primarily off of AC power so if there is an incident, I did not have to worry about the alarm draining the battery and creating a hazard. It also has a battery so it is powered from two independent sources, which is what I like for a safety device.
The devices all interconnect with a hard line -- this guarantees communication with other Kidde devices throughout the house. I did not want radio or WiFi communications as that may not be reliable, particularly if there was a fire.
I like the fact that the display shows the levels of CO and it has a peak detector. This is good since it lets me know if there is a problem developing; I don't have to wait until there is a serious problem and safety issue.
I bought 4 of the units and they all installed without issues.

This alarm is completely compatible with the hardware from the older version of the same model. This made installation a breeze. Works great and looks great too.
