If I order some of these, how do I know if I'll get good ones from after the recall and not ones that should have gone back 2 months ago? I'm not going to order any until I know for sure. Home Depot should definitely make it clear in the ad.

PI2010's manufactured between 2016 Sep 10 and 2017 Oct 13 were recalled for the yellow cap issue mentioned above. There is a good explanation and process for determining whether your unit is affected on the Kidde webpage under Product alerts: March 21, 2018 > Kidde Recalls Dual Sensor Smoke Alarms Due to Risk of Failure to Alert Consumers to a Fire This leads to an identification process here: http://kiddeyellowcap.rsvpcomm.com/info.aspx that is clear and easy to follow. I like the way they handled this.

I have to replace 5 smoke detectors, they are hard wired with a Battery Backup, they are pretty old. Model is KIDDE FYRNETICS Ionization Smoke Alarm Model 1275. I don't see that here and I want to replace with the correct one, which one is it?? Also, if I wanted to upgrade to also check for Carbon Monoxide, which ones are those?? Thanks,
Asked by: Shaun
This Firex alarm uses both ionization and photoelectric technology. If you want to replace with using a combination smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm, click on the link below for those. The ones that we replaced are hardwired with a dual sensor so it uses both ionization and photoelectric technology and so far they are working great. Thanks! https://www.homedepot.com/b/Search/N-5yc1vZbmgj/Ntk-Extended/Ntt-kidde?Ntx=mode+matchpartialmax&NCNI-5

If this detector is hardwired with several units on the same circuit and one alarms, will ALL on that circuit also alarm?
Asked by: Bill
Yes. They all alarm when you press the test button as well. The lights on the unit will tell you which one triggered the alarm.

Do I need to do a lithium battery?
Asked by: Donna
This unit specifically says NOT to use lithium batteries. Use only alkaline types. It doesn't say why.
