This tree watering bag has mixed utility. I appreciate that it releases water slowly to the tree roots, but it only lasts for a 5 to 9 hour period. While this is somewhat useful in some situations, if you are watering a tree or a tree sapling daily and having to lug a watering hose or a watering can out there Anyway, this doesn’t save you much time or effort. I think what would make this a better product is an adjustable flow rate, where are you could extend the period of watering over a longer time.

What a great idea for new saplings that need that extra deep soak to survive after transplant! The watering bad wraps completely around the base of the tree, self supported, and fills/drains evenly so it should never tip or become unstable to push on the tree. I worried that it would become to warm and burn the tree (in Phoenix AZ) but it seems to be keeping my tree happy and damp. I remove it for a few days when it’s empty so the tree can breath. The bag hold several gallons of water, so I added shock and vitamins into the water so it can go gradually into the soil. I recommend this item for new landscaping or when adding a new sapling to already existing landscape so you don’t need to increase sprinkler times.

Heavy-weight Bag. First impression was the quality of the material used. It is a poly coated fabric similar to what you get in a Dry bag for protecting your valuables while at the beach or boating. It holds the water in with no leakage through the seams or zipper. To fill the bag, you find a slit in the side behind the label at the top. At the bottom there are two weep tubes that release the water 180 degrees from each other. I filled the bag and the weep tubes sent out a steady, slow drip. The manufacturer states it will take 5-9 hrs to drain. I haven't kept a clock on mine, but that seems to be correct. I have several competitor tree bags that weep through the material down to the roots. They may do a better job of spreading the water around the base of the tree. That's just my opinion. I can't see a difference in my trees, so it probably doesn't matter. The best thing about these bags is you can control the water run-off and the tree roots benefit from a slow drip rather than a heavy shower.

Tough, sturdy construction. Very well made. Finger handles for repositioning the bag work well. Easy to mount around a tree. Just follow the instructions on the bag. Fill partially then position and then fill to the top. Water dribbles out very slowly to give any sapling a thorough watering. Works great for a tree that is no more than 4 inches in diameter.

We planted a tree in memory of a coworkers daughter who passed away and needed a way to maintain the proper hydration for the tree. The watering bag us simple to use, made of durable materials and the installation was a snap. The directions were right on the bag so no matter where they end up the user will be able to quickly place them in service. The bag has so far performed as intended by drip irrigation the tree.

I have used several different irrigation bags that lay around the base of a tree like a donut, but the issues I had were they don’t work well when the tree is on a slope and the material they were made out of didn’t hold up to intense heat. This bag works great for trees on a hillside because it wraps really snug to the tree trunk and having a zipper makes it really easy to install. Because the design of the bag runs up the trunk, there is no need for any valves to keep the water from spilling out and filling it is super easy. Best irrigation bag I have found so far.

This was the first time I ever used a tree watering bag. I am very happy with the thickness of the bag. I was expecting it to be thinner and less durable. I am sure this bag will last me years of use as I plant more trees and water trees during times of drought. The fill slit is good size and the fact the instruction are part of the bag means I will not loose them. I also like that it has a zipper and not Velcro.

brilliant idea for any small trees that need watering without wasting water. it has a medium duty zipper(not easiest to get started) down one side to wrap bag around trunk. this is designed to fit a trunk up to 4” diam. it has a slit on side near top to fill bag using fresh water. food can be added but needs to be dissolved first in the water before adding to bag. although it has straps they are not meant to be used to hang the bag on tree. there are two drip drains at bottom.

Love this bag! It zips easily around the tree. The hole to put water in is wide enough to accommodate the large sprinkle head of my watering can and is easy to pour into. Our little lemon tree had been neglected for a number of years by absentee owners and we moved it. Now I can slowly feed it water from our rain barrel supplemented with fish emulsion and iron. The bag comes with 2 drip valves. I like having 2 valves so the tree is not just getting its nutrition in one spot. The bag holds 15 gal. but I used only 8 for our small tree. It drips in over 8-15 hrs though I may try to slow it down a bit to extend the time.
