Was without a fridge for 6 weeks due to pandemic closings but when my kitchen aide arrived I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Was concerned because my cabinet wood panels would not fit in any model so I bought stainless. Wish I had done this years ago. My kitchen is small unlike those in newer homes, and I have a French country vibe going on, but this refrigerator is GORGEOUS- roomy and can I say it again? GORGEOUS- Love it 10 out of 10. Common design flaw

Common design flaw, lights not working in less than a year. Tech was able to fix it but needed to take the doors off to change the light. Frozen food defrosting on the counter, expensive custom door panel. Note the cost of the light itself is over 60$ not including labor there are eight lights in this refrigerator, three were out in less than a year. 60$x8=480$ to replace your refrigerator lights. Product Manual states the lights will never need service. Buyer beware.
This review will be posted on every home improvement sight I visited during my two year house remodeling effort.

We aren’t happy with our KitchenAid panel ready refrigerator. We bought this to replace our 24 year old SubZero. The shelf layout is bad. You have to open both doors to pull out the bottom drawer. That drawer should be split like the two above it. There isn’t nearly the shelf space that we had with our SubZero. We had to purchase the Kitchenaid handles separately. They are hideous looking. We returned them to get something more aesthetically pleasing. It is very quiet and the ice maker works well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love Kitchenaid appliance - small appliance and major appliances. I just purchased a Kitchenaid induction cooktop (5 stars) for the same kitchen. In the recent past, I’ve purchased a duel fuel double oven range (a high quality machine) and a refrigerator/freezer for an apartment (which I like a lot, and it also has French doors). Now I have this very expensive, very large French door panel-ready refrigerator. This refrigerator is a HUGE disappointment. There were no photos of the interior available when we purchased it, so we had to rely on a floor model that was supposed to be very similar - it wasn’t. The available storage space is much less than anticipated (see photos). The produce compartments are miniscule. To open one of the produce doors you need to have both exterior doors open otherwise the drawer hits to door. The interior of the refrigerator is very shallow. Even the storage space on the insides of the doors is more limited than much smaller French door models we’ve had in other houses: I can’t even fit the butter container in the door because the holder is too narrow at the top and the container lid catches on it. I am also not a fan of the platinum interior - too dark. Were it to do all over again, I would select another refrigerator. I purchased this appliance because I have never been disappointed by Kitchenaid. The record is now broken. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Bought this as a replacement for an older failing Sub Zero. Unit works very nice but the shelves in the doors are very small. A lot of space is lost due to the width of the molded shelf mounts in the door and the mating ends on the individual shelves. The french door design also loses some storage space compared to a single refrigerator door. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We have a smaller kitchen so we wanted a built in to save some space. We soon discovered that the freezer space is limited after emptying our old refrigerator. this was disappointing. Within the first few days the lights fell off the produce draw so we had to set up a service call. We are also surprised as to how hard the doors slam if you done hold them. We recently moved and remodeled. Having had this frig before for 17 years didn’t cross our minds about anything else. We just bought another one for our new house never had any problems in 17 years so I will take another 17 any day. Kitchen aid is the best u can get in my opinion we have all kitchen aid and won’t get anything else you cannot go wrong with this frig u pay alot but nothing like subzero or viking my mom has subzero and it doesn’t compare [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have had this for almost two years, and nothing but problems. The freezer always freezes over, have to scrape off all the ice build up. The refridgerator portion doesnt stay cold, it constantly runs and never turns off.

This refrigerator was installed almost 3wks ago. It replaced a 19yo kitchenaid which serviced us well. We’re so happy with the new as it fits into the same space as the old one, however has about a 15-20% more internal capacity, which is fantastic especially under these difficult times where we need to store more refrigerated items!!
