This 22.6 cu. ft. side-by-side refrigerator features the Preserva Food Care System. Its 2 independent cooling systems help keep food fresh while the FreshFlow Air Filter minimizes odors, and the Produce Preserver delays over-ripening. The counter-depth design gives the high-end look of built-in refrigerators and the PrintShield Finish resists fingerprints and smudges on the stainless exterior.
- PrintShield Finish resists smudges and fingerprints. The specialized coating for stainless steel is easy to clean with just water and a soft cloth, so you can spend more time cooking and less time cleaning up

- Preserva Food Care System: 2 independent cooling systems provide a dedicated refrigeration unit to help keep food fresh longer, and a separate system for frozen food. Outstanding refrigerator!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this for my new home to match our appliance package from the builder. We love it. Due to it being counter depth it might be a bit small for a larger family, but it’s great for a couple, or small family. Plenty of room.

Resubmitting with Photos - Buyer Beware!
After 2 yrs, 3months, a service call revealed a $500 repair for a known issue that Kitchen Aid knows exists. I contacted Kitchen Aid to request one-time consideration for them to cover the cost of the repair based upon this known issue, which was denied. Given the acknowledged issue with this product, my request for one time consideration should have been supported. A consumer should be able to expect more than 2 yrs, 3 months of problem free mechanical functionality.

Generally happy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] but a few things have tripped us up as they seem much more flimsy than we'd expected from KitchenAid. Little things (like the metal tray under the water dispenser rusting) but when even the teens notice and ask why we went to all the trouble of getting this one... Thankfully it cleans off easily and generally runs well (and I get to teach said teens about maintenance). I like that it's easy to rearrange for organization and is generally just a simple functional fridge.

Great look, nice and compact
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the refrigerator for it's specs - great compromise on the unit being small from an external dimension standpoint while still having a good deal of space internally. The only reason why I've given this a rating of 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the build quality. There are some places where the insulating material used (seems like some sort of expansion foam like material) is exposed and wasn't really cleaned up well, including a small spot on the edge of the door where it has tarnished the finish a tiny bit. The internal assembly around what seems to be the water chiller in the fridge portion also seems poorly assembled as it was making it difficult to get a drawer/shelf locked in place and it required some physical convincing to get it locked in. Again, seems like an issue of poor assembly as removal of an interior panel showed that there was a wire harness squashed between the insulating material and the panel, causing it to ever so slightly bulge out, preventing the shelf from locking in place.

Evaporator Coils keep freezing
I had this fridge serviced 6x already for the same issue. The evap coils keep freezing and making the fridge 65 degrees. Started 1 month after I received it. After doing a lot of research it seems this is a known issue for this fridge and KitchenAid refuses to recall it. KitchenAid certified tech's came a couple of times, replaced parts, and the issue is still ongoing. Now I have to get a new fridge with a different brand only 2 years after purchasing this one. Very disappointed in KitchenAid.

Nice unit
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) After waiting 2 months for the fridge we found that the quality of inspection at the manufacturer level is very bad. The freezer door has the spray insulation foam coming out of the door edges. Very sad for the price we paid. However we got a new door ordered but they are not sure when that is coming in. I my own opinion this should not of left the manufacturer with this. It makes the fridge look like a cheap unit. But overall in interior and the operation of the fridge is amazing.

Excellent, so far
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new fridge was purchased to replace an older, noisier, hard-to-use fridge of the same size. At the time of this review, the new fridge has been up and running for 8 days, and it's good, so far. The new fridge is very quiet and despite being the same cubic feet as the old, seems to hold more. Might be because the drawers, shelves, and bins are more adjustable and can be arranged for more efficient accommodations. As stated previously, the new fridge has only been on for 8 days and it's too early to provide comments from a lengthier experience.

Kitchenaid counter depth refrigerator
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced a 16 year old kitchenaid refrigerator. Same as our last one a side by side. They definitely made some positive improvements over the years. The water and ice dispenser is higher for taller bottles, the ice dispenser inside the freezer is more efficient, LED lights inside, water filter replacements are inside at the top of the unit instead of on the outside at the bottom of the unit, we’ve had it around a month and it seems to be working fine. On the downside, I wish this one like our last one had spill shelves. Also for what this one cost, they didn’t do that great of a job with the finishing touches. You can see foam insulation on the seams on the refrigerator side. Oh and the slide out drawers aren’t the best quality. We have to be careful pushing them in as not to break them. We didn’t have many choices since all of our appliances are this style of Kitchenaid. Just hope it lasts 15 or more years like our last one.

Small drawers , cheap materials ,
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a set to match range , dishwasher , microwave. First I had to get a carpenter to raise my cabinets because it is taller than my old fridge. Then I noticed one of the cheap plastic drawers was broken on the deli bin. They will replace it after reporting it to customer service . All of the drawers on this appliance are the same cheap plastic and are wobbly. They are also very small in capacity,
The ice dispenser is very loud and ice sprays out in all directions.
It is a major disappointment for me from a brand of product I expected to be high quality .
