Not The Best, But Good Value
We replaced an old Jenn-Air that was similar but a little higher quality. This grill comes well packaged. Instructions are easy to follow and if your opening is the right size (mine was) it’s super easy to literally drop on. The lid is good, but it does flex a little. My biggest issue was the 4 cooking grates - 3 of them were crooked. Like really crooked. They would not all go into place and the manual was silent to it. I took them back to HD and we looked at the floor model. The grates on the floor model were all square so HD swapped them out. Got home and they fit just fine.
I’ve cooked with it twice and it’s great. Even heat. The searing burner worked great with steaks. The rear indirect burner works really well.
All in all, I have no regrets. This is NOT what you get for $2k-$4k, but it works and looks good. Essentially this is an entry level drop in grill of this size. I’m sure it’ll serve is well for 8-10 years and then we’ll just replace it.

Easy to install and use; unfortunate brand tag placement/quality
I've had grill installed in my outdoor kitchen since last summer, but decided to wait until using it through a couple of seasons to review. The grill is really nice! It is a well-made, sturdy built-in grill. The burners cook food evenly across the surface, and it's enjoyable to use. Recently purchased and used the rotisserie adapter. Everything worked like a charm. Unfortunately, the KitchenAid medallion/brand tag, prominently applied in the front and center of the grill is junk! Mine got all "melty" and distorted during the first use, and it has caused discoloration of the stainless steel around. It really takes away from the otherwise high quality appearance. With a purchase price of over $1000, I expected more.

The back of the lid and the heat plates turned brown (see pictures) when I first ignited the grill. I have not use it to grill anything yet and the lid and the heat plates turned brown. I am very disappointed that the unit is constructed with very low-quality and cheap components. I would not recommend purchasing this unit, do not waste your money.

Good grill for the price
I bought this grill over years ago. It has been great for me and I only have a few issues but after 5 years I would expect some and these are minor. Issues are that one of the knobs doesn't engage the automatic lighter and the KitchenAid emblem on the front of the grill has corroded badly. The grill is located under a patio roof and I did keep it covered with the cover until recently. I do keep it clean and pull the grids often and clean them but they look like new as does the overall grill for the most part. I don't use my grill as often as most, probably 30-40 times per year. No issues at all with rust or corrosion on cover or grid. I plan on buying another one for a second location due to my experience so far.

I bought this grill and had it installed in my newly built outdoor kitchen about 20 months ago. During the two summers I have used it, it worked awesome! It's cooking ability really lives up to how it is advertised. The issue that I am having is that the lid is already starting to rust!! After ever use(once it cools down), I clean it with the recommended stainless steel cleaner and put the cover back on it. It has never gone without the cover when its not in use. I reached out to KitchenAid and was told rust is not covered under the warranty. It's not even 2 years old! I gave it 3 stars because it does cook good, but judging by the rust that is already forming, it is going to like bad within another year.

I purchased this grill Fall of 2014. it is now 2.5 years old. It has not aged well. The burners, heat plates, and warming rack are made low-grade, cheap stainless. They have all rusted even though the unit has been covered 100% of the time when not in use. The cooking grates appear to be made of high quality stainless when new, but if you read closely the product description indicates the grates are made of "304-grade stainless steel WRAPPED cooking grids". The stainless WRAP has begun to peel off over the high-heat sear station section. The bigger challenge is finding replacement pairs for this grill. The model # 740-0781 is not in replacement part data bases. Kitchen-Aid grills are not made by Kitchen-Aid, they are made by Nexgrill Industries. Home Depot does not sell replacement parts for this unit. The unit worked well when it was brand new, but the construction and low-quality, cheap components cause it not to age well. I would not purchase this unit again.
