A:Â Hello Tad! Please see page 5 of the Installation Instructions. 2. Remove the foam roll from the package containing literature. Apply foam adhesive-side down around the bottom of the
cooktop glass.
NOTE: The foam helps avoid damage to the underside of the cooktop glass from debris and helps the cooktop sit flat on uneven counters.

Sleek, fast, easy to clean
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE my new induction cooktop! I changed from an electric smoothtop range to this induction cooktop in my brand new kitchen remodel. The electric took forever to heat up and then cool down. The induction is instant! Both to heat food and then to have complete control over the temps. There is no comparison. My kids who use gas were even impressed. The cooktop is gorgeous in my island, and cleans up with cooktop cleaner and a paper towel in about two minutes. The only warning I will give is that when using the surface as a counter area (with the lock on the cooktop), be sure NOT to put items on the control panel area. It will begin beeping at you and take a few minutes to return to normal. Once I realized that, absolutely no problems. I will never go back!

Still getting used to Indctn but loving it so far
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've always had electric ranges and recently switched to his induction cooktop. We did buy all new cookware and now in our second month my wife is mastering cooking technique and I just last weekend did a 2 1/2 gallon homebrew of a Black Rye IPA and the cooktop worked fantastically. No problem bringing 3 gallons of water or wort to a boil very quickly (this is a 120v install) and boiling for an hour. The Boost setting for ten minutes really gets the heat up quickly and then degree to which fine tune the temperature is amazing. I was concerned about the weight of the iron clad kettle plus the gallons of wort on top of the ceramic glass top but no problem. This cooktop is much more efficient and much more exact in terms of temp control than anything we've ever used before. Highly recommended.

After one month of use I was was cleaning around the unit and a piece of glass came off. The second month another piece came off. The large burner only cooks on the inside and not the outer. They sent someone out and he said it is the way it is suppose to work and he didn't think they would replace the glass. I have heard nothing else back.
Very hard to keep clean and is super loud but according to the maintenance guy he said that all induction cooktop a sound like this.

We’ve had this cooktop for nearly 3 years. We use it all of the time and it never lets us down. Everyone knows that induction is faster and safer but there are two advantages that were unexpected. First, the level of temperature control is excellent. For instance, when a pot of pasta is nearly boiling over for being too hot, turning the cooktop down by one level (1-9) INSTANTLY produces the desired result. It’s very reactive. The second advantage is the BEST OF ALL: because the cooktop itself doesn’t every get super hot, it is so much easier to keep clean. Food spills never get burned on like a regular glass top. As a result, our 3 year old unit looks amazing, like new. We never need to do any heavy cleaning with abrasives, just wipe it clean. The touch controls take a little getting used to. I buy again without hesitation.

Love Induction Cooking!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This induction cooktop is unbelievable. I live in a high-rise condo so we have no choice but to use an electric stove. On my old stove which was only 4 years old, you could grow old waiting for the water to boil and if you were making pasta, it rarely came to a full boil. This KitchenAid induction cooktop boils a pot of water in under 2 minutes to a rolling boil. I also love that it cools down quickly once you turn it off or remove the pot. Still getting used to the sensitive controls, but I love cooking on it. They say it's better than cooking with gas. I knew I wanted an induction cooktop when I renovated my kitchen. I had to have the area rewired to accommodate the separate cooktop, wall oven and microwave, but it was definitely worth it.

Very pleased
I can’t understand some of these reviews not being good. I’ve had my cooktop about a month now & couldn’t be happier. Great size, temperature control & love the features, especially the lock power. I did get the stainless trim which was an upgrade & advised would prevent any chipping. So far all my new kitchen aid appliances are fantastic.

Fast Accurate Cooking!
We purchased this appliance to replace an older electric unit that was going out. We had previously been debating on getting gas but now I am glad that we went with induction. It is truly the best of both worlds - FAST, responsive, accurate cooking without the risk of an open flame (we have a little one). The cooktop is easy to clean because spills don't get burned on, as heat is generated inside the pan. I've had beautiful results, no burns, and my kitchen looks cleaner longer. It's also simple to use and has a sleek look with no bulky buttons. I love it!
