I would like to install this cooktop above my Ikea Nutid convection oven. This is a single wall oven. So both units would be housed in the same cabinet. Are these products compatable? If so, what would the clearance need to be between the cooktop and the top of the oven?
Asked by: Installme
Hello, this Cooktop is not compatible with Ikea. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our KitchenAid appliances!

Architect Series II 30 in. Smooth Surface Induction Cooktop in Stainless Steel with 4 Elements Including Bridge Element is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 138.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT I have had this product for 3 months... It is being replaced for the third time with the same error code F47 and KitchenAid will not give the authorization to BestBuy to let us return the product. Three units! All with the same error code! They expect me to take off work every month for a new service call for the same problem until my warranty period expires... at which time it will become my expense to pay for this piece of junk product. $1800 is a lot of money to spend on a product that has caused me so much frustration and having to deal with a company that is not responsive to customers concerns. They took my money, gave me a useless product and now they won't take it back and let me have my money back to buy a stove that actually works. It's basically a scam. This whole process has been so ludicrous - I am beyond dissatisfied, I am disgusted with this company and this product. Will NEVER buy KitchenAid again!!

I bought the Kitchenaid Induction cook top thinking it was going to be amazing, and with a normal round pan that fits in the space of the burners, it is. Unfortunately for me, I specifically bought a model with the "Bridge Mode" for the burners, and quickly found out that Kitchenaid doesn't feel that people really plan to use this feature. The "Bridge Zone" doesn't actually have any way of heating the pan, so now I have an overpriced cook top that doesn't work as advertised. When I try to use the bridge mode with my griddle, the two round spots where the burners are heat just fine, but the space over the "Bridge Zone" is 200 degrees cooler than the burner zones making it completely worthless. I called Kitchenaid, and the representative I spoke with said it should work fine and scheduled a service call. When the service technician came out, he called their technical department and was told this is normal. If you are looking for a cook top without a Bridge Mode, get a cheaper model, because this isn't worth the extra money.

As noted by others, if you use the "boost" function, it will likely fail. After three repair attempts by the local authorized Kitchaid dealer/repair facility, I gave up on this unit. Each repair lasted only a few weeks (even if we avoided the boost function). Although Kitchenaid provided free parts support, they would not replace this lemon unit. Our previous GE Monogram induction cooktop (bought in 1990) worked for 25 years without a hiccup, so the basic technology is not at fault, just poor implementation by Kitchenaid on this unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cooktop is not recommeded I would not recommend this cooktop to others. The cooktop has blown out the board 4 times in less than 10 months of use. It's the same issue as other reviews. Putting the largest burner in boost mode trips breaker and results in F47 error. I've taken out extended warranty as I have zero confidence the next repair (waiting to get it fixed again) will fix the problem long term. The warranty repair technician has tried to get a new unit or replacement cookware to try any other means to solve problem, but has thus far KitchenAid has recommended to continue to fix the same unit. The cooktop itself is visually very nice, and cleans well. After 10 months of use, it shines like brand new. The induction is a bit loud (never had one before, maybe it's normal). It buzzes on and off while cooking. The exhaust fan drowns the buzz out, but it is audible throughout the kitchen w/o fan on. The fridge, double ovens, and dishwasher we replaced with KitchenAid at same time as cooktop have all been working well with no complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Induction cooking is a game changer. I made the switch to induction cooking and really enjoy how responsive it is. An added bonus is that the cooktop is easier to clean than a gas cooktop. The only downside is the need to have induction-compatible cookware. Much of my old stuff didn't work. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best decision ever Incredibly quick response. Better than gas for cooking, especially for melting and boiling. much more control over heating and safe around children and elderly because the surface doesn't heat. Also doubles as additional counter space. Love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Induction Review Remodeled kitchen and had an induction cooktop installed. Love it. Had a couple of pans that didn't work, but they needed replaced anyway. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Induction Cooking! This induction cooktop is unbelievable. I live in a high-rise condo so we have no choice but to use an electric stove. On my old stove which was only 4 years old, you could grow old waiting for the water to boil and if you were making pasta, it rarely came to a full boil. This KitchenAid induction cooktop boils a pot of water in under 2 minutes to a rolling boil. I also love that it cools down quickly once you turn it off or remove the pot. Still getting used to the sensitive controls, but I love cooking on it. They say it's better than cooking with gas. I knew I wanted an induction cooktop when I renovated my kitchen. I had to have the area rewired to accommodate the separate cooktop, wall oven and microwave, but it was definitely worth it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
