About the blue goo-----what has kitchenaid done to correct this problem? All I see from you is that you will get back to the people but you have NOT posted what your company has done about this-----until I get a answer I would not buy this for my mixer

Funny that the "Kitchenaid Team" states here that the attachment has been redesigned to correct the problem. In my own product research, I have found repeatedly that there are issues with the blue liquid leaking. So I emailed KitchenAid this weekend and told them I had seen hundreds of reviews reporting this issue and I questioned whether it was being addressed or redesigned... I didn't want to buy a faulty product. This is the response I received today (2/8/16): "Dear Ms. H****, Thank you for contacting KitchenAid and allowing me the opportunity to respond to your inquiry. KitchenAid's Ice Cream Maker Attachment does not have any known issues. I would advise that the warranty is for one year, there have been no changes to the design, and that there have been no consistent issues that would warrant a change. If I may be of further assistance to you, please feel free to respond to this email or you may reach us by calling 1-800-541-6390, Monday through Friday, 8 am until 8 pm, EST. Thank you for owning KitchenAid. Sincerely, Emily KitchenAid e-Solutions Specialist" Interesting... Who do you believe? And if it has been redesigned, was there a recall on the old ones? How would you know if you are purchasing an old one or a new one? I really, really want this attachment but I'm not risking purchasing an expensive faulty product, especially when the responses are contradictory.

not 100% sure it works
i tried the mixer for the 1st time yesturday. and it start to do its thing by icing the cream... but after that it was just mixing.. i think the mixer lost its coldness so it was not really icecream it was more like cold yogart. and it was given more than enough time to ice the cream.. will not give up on it yet. still giving it a chance.. will try again before i say.. dont not invest in product.

The device that came with the machine was different than what the manual showed, however, I went online and saw that it was the correct device (i guess updated). I wasn't sure how to put it on at first, but after a few uses, i realized that it doesn't snap on, rather pushes on. It wont fall off as it churns, but it will once you pull it off. I could be wrong, and maybe it is supposed to snap on, but i feel like it will break if i push too hard, so i don't. Other than that, my family absolutely loves the ice cream. My husband keeps asking, "so when are you going to fill those tubs back up". Its so much healthier and tastier than store bought ice cream. and those are words from the kids.. I am enjoying it, and look forward to many years of use.

Everyones favourite blue liquid
Customer review from kitchenaid.com logo
My mother used the ice cream maker twice with amazing results. She put it away and forgot about it for a few years until I borrored it from her this month. When I got home, the bag I had put the ice cream maker in had a beautiful blue puddle in it. I've tried and tried but cannot pin point the spot where the liquid is coming from

Ice Cream Kitchenaid attachment
Customer review from kitchenaid.com logo
This works great for making ice cream. It makes almost a half gallon. It is important when making it, the freezer bowl must be on and running when you start. If you pour the mix in the bowl and then turn it on, you could have a big mess. The liquid freezes on contact of the bowl inside. The paddle could get stuck and it is a mess! Great ice cream, terrible bowl
Customer review from kitchenaid.com logo
I received this as a wedding gift, and after using it just five times, the bowl started leaking blue liquid. Customer service claims they can't do anything because the product is no longer under warranty, even though this seems to be a common problem.

Real Ice Cream
Customer review from kitchenaid.com logo
We have made our first batch of vanilla ice cream with strawberries. Oh, it is so darn good. Make certain that everything is cold. We put the bowl in the freezer for more than 15 hours to make certain that it was very cold. Then it was pretty simple. We used the whisk attachment in the regular stainless steel bowl to mix the ingredients before removing the ice cream bowl from the freezer. It was so easy to set up and then let it do it's magic over the next 20-30 minutes. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Cooling Liquid Leaking
Customer review from kitchenaid.com logo
Used it 3 or 4 times and always stored it in the freezer like the instructions suggest. Then it started leaking blue liquid everywhere. That's some expensive ice cream.
