Cleans up oil base paint extremely well. I don’t recommend paint thinner at all. Mineral spirits is the best choice. You can let the used spirits sit undisturbed for a few days and the paint will settle leaving clear usable spirits on top. Pour slowly into another container and wipe out the deposited paint from the first container with paper towels. You will have the least wasted spirits and hazard waste.

Used during and at cleanup while staining a desk/workbench that I built. It worked well in cleaning up brushes and made it less of a chore than usual. Haven't noticed any objectionable odors and it just plain worked well.

Works great for thinning Watco stain and for mixing with urethane for wipe on finish. Light years better than some "green" mineral spirits which nearly ruined a project when I used that for making wipe on finish. Had to totally sand off the mess and refinish the Piano Bench using KleanStrip for my thinner.

I am making a lot of woodworking projects right now, some small, some big but almost all need some sanding and finishing. The vital step for me in between is wiping down with Mineral spirits. Not only gives you a very clean surface to work with but also gives you a preview of how the grain is going to look once a finish is applied. I use this every day in the shop and always try to keep a spare gallon on hand.
