Q:I will be priming and painting over pre-painted metal roofing drip edge that has a glossy finish. Is this deglosser helpful in promoting adhesion in this application? You say no rinsing required, but is rinsing ok or does that defeat the purpose?

Q:I want to use this product to prep a piece of furniture that is currently stained. I will be painting the piece. Is this the right product to use? And is it correct that I just wipe it on, let it dry and then I can paint it?

Absolutely love this product!
I could not believe how great this worked on old oak cabinets we were painting white. Made the cabinets look so new, I almost considered not painting them any longer. Hidden gem at The Home Depot.

Shockingly ineffective. Do not buy.
Stunned at how useless this product was. Attaching pictures so you can see how glossy the furniture remained AFTER treatment. It had absolutely zero effect. I rubbed more vigorously and repeatedly than if I had just sanded. Complete waste of time, money, and effort. Wish I could get my money back. Save yourself and just sand. The pictures speak for themselves.

This is NOT a stripper!
Bad reviews because people are confused as to its purpose! 100+ year old home, anyone who's tried latex over oil paint knows it won't adhere. In place of sanding (releasing possible lead not to mention time consuming) I just wipe a generous coat of this with a rag in a circular motion on my trim work, let it dry for 30 minutes, and then apply two coats a good quality semigloss latex paint. This WORKS GREAT & HOLDS UP!! Currently using to prep faux wood doors.

Doesn't work at all
This product didn't work and I do not recommend. I purchased this ro remove a white base paint and nothing came off.

Love this stuff. It eliminates the need for sanding so the paint adheres properly. I used it on a painted cement table and the painted over the existing color and it turned out perfect.
