This electrical tester set includes an electronic voltage tester (Cat. No. ET45), a dual range non-contact voltage tester (Cat. No. NCVT3P), and a GFCI receptacle tester (Cat. No. RT210). The ET45 Voltage Tester is a simple, easy to use tester to check, verify or troubleshoot common residential electrical wiring in electrical outlets, light fixtures, doorbells and more. The NCVT3P automatically detects and indicates voltage (12 - 1000V AC) allowing broad application. The RT210 will troubleshoot the most common wiring problems in standard and GFCI receptacles.
ET45 Voltage Tester tests AC voltages from 24V to 240V AC at four useful levels
Tests DC voltages from 32V to 330V at four levels
Built-in test lead holder on back of tester holds the leads in one of two positions: one so that they are spaced correctly to test tamper-resistant US-style outlets and the other for convenient storage of the test leads
Batteries not required for the ET45; tester is powered by the applied voltage
NCVT3P provides non-contact detection of low voltage in security, entertainment, communications, environmental control, and irrigation systems
Dual ranges indicates low voltage (12 to 48V AC) and standard voltage (70 to 1000V AC) allowing broad application
NCVT3P detects 12 to 1000V AC with simultaneous visual and audible voltage indicators
NCVT3P has a flashlight that can be used independently of the NCVT
NCVT3P requires 2 x AAA batteries, that are included in the kit
Auto power-off feature conserves and extends battery life
RT210 detects the most common wiring problems in standard and GFCI receptacles
Works on GFI outlets and confirms operation of the ground fault protective device
Conditions the RT210 indicates: open ground, reverse polarity, open hot, open neutral, hot/ground reversed.

A great budget price point electric outlet tester. It makes perfect sense that the light output results are printed on the tester itself, my previous unit was not like this, and I ended up losing the card which showed what lights meant what. This sticker is permanent, so it will never get lost or wear off. This can also be used to test out GFCI outlets and pigtail cords. We also use this tester as an easy way to test extension cords in compliance with OSHA assured grounding rules.

Great product gets the job done if you're not familiar with the operations of these specific tools there is a users guide to help explain the general concept of how the pill works Klein is a trusted brand Elite electrical equipment business I do like their products to specific product is excellent a little light duty but other than that for a $10 item you really can't beat it they do make similar ones for even less but I would pay a few dollars more for a trusted like Klein

Awesome product. This is an absolute must have for anyone that does any sort of handy work! The tester has a nice pocket clip on the front. The testing probes actually attach to the backside of the tester. Each probe has a removable tip to expose more metal. (Easier to test outlets.). This is a very high quality product by one of the best known names in the electrical business. A+

This is a great little tool to have in your electric bag when working on houses or other sites where you wnat to check the power. I always throw the breaker and then following that I always check the plug or the connection with a meter and this one fits the bill. Its small and light weight easily fits in your pocket or tool belt. Makes it nice when you want to run a quick check to insure that the power is off. With the color it is easy to find in the bag or the belt. No batteries to worry about. Its a handy little tool that can go from the professional to the DIYer.

prime example of a well design electrical tester. there a built in pocket clip that works. test leads are designed to be stored on the testers body . unit is able to test 4 different power voltages x ac or dc voltages . the lead wires are 9 inch long and each has a protective cap on the probe . the test light is very bright when there is proper voltage found . the unit is well marked to see the proper voltage in 4 segments from 24v ac -32 v dc to 240 v ac -330v dc. safety rated cat111 350v,class2,double insulation.

A rugged circuit tester suitable for CAT III as well as household use.
The Klein Tools AC/DC Voltage Tester (Model # ET45) is a robust unit with some handy features. The indicator lights are bright and easy to see. The test leads snap into place on the back of the unit in two positions - one for storage (the test probes are protected) and one with the test probes held perfectly for testing outlets (including tamper proof).
For CAT III usage the tool includes shields that cover most of the metal probes, leaving only the tips exposed. The shields must be removed to test outlets, which seems like a sure way to lose them! Given the clever way Klein “docks” the leads into the back of the body, it would be great if they also provided something similar for the shields to prevent loss.
But if it’s mainly for home use, remove the shields permanently and store them in a “snack size” Ziploc baggy which happens to exactly fit the instruction manual :)
A couple other things to be aware of - this is a simple voltage TESTER. It is not a METER - it can distinguish 24V vs 48V vs 120V vs 240V AC, but it doesn’t give an exact reading. It won’t test your flashlight batteries. And it’s not a multimeter, so don’t expect it to measure amps or ohms. If you need any of those features, Home Depot stocks several multimeters by Klein.
But for a reasonably priced, basic, rugged voltage tester, this is hard to beat.

Been using this GFCI tester for a couple months now. It replaced a Gardner Bender that died after a decade in service. It is notably rounder and can be slippery to disengage from sticky outlets. However, it does the job its designed for satisfactorily. Saves lots of time troubleshooting outlets. Does fit in the smaller pocket on my tool pouch even with the ncvt and 4in1 control screwdriver.

Tester is easy to use and the bright lights are easy to see even when outside where it is bright and they are also easy to see when checking those upside-down outlets. Could not be happier. Tom
