Does this crimper work with any modular RJ45 plug or only the klein brand?
Any
They would with most brands, though AMP brand RJs have a tendency to only work well in AMP crimpers, and AMP crimpers have a tendency to only worl well with AMP RJs. That said, I was using Ideal RJs for a while, but now I only use the ones I get from Monoprice (107266), they work perfectly and are very inexpensive. I have used them in industrial and general commercial locations with no issues. This included areas with high humidity.
The Klein Tools VDV226-107 Crimper will work with any modular RJ45 plugs.
