I recently moved into a new house, and apparently the previous owners had cable, then dish, and then maybe an antenae. I had to figure out which coaxial went where and this little device helped out a lot. I plugged a cable into one end, found another end and tested continuity. Worked good. Could be used to check if a coaxial cable is good, which I did to make sure I was seeing things correctly.

I used my pocket coax continuity tester today. I was checking to find the right cable for my satellite dish. You hook up the tester head to one end of cable and the buzzer end to a cable and when it buzzes and lights you know you have a good cable. I put up a photo of the tool connected to the cable with the light lit, the other end was buzzing. This was a very useful tool. The directions were very easy to follow.

Right tool for the right job! This Klein pocket Coax continuity tester is perfect for checking to make sure that you do not have a short in your coaxial cable for your TV or radio. It has an F connector which is the most commonly used connector for this application (see picture). When you connect the tester as described in the handy trifold instructions (see picture), the tester emits a tone and a green light on both the top and the side will come on (see picture). Having the two lights is nice feature because you do not have to be concerned about how you hold the tester. You will be able to see one or both green lights very easily, even if you are on your knees behind a console of home electronics or in the basement, attic, or even on the roof at the antenna. It comes with the AAA battery already installed, so Klein has thought of everything! I highly recommend this coax cable continuity tester because it sure beats dragging out a generic tester with test leads and probes that are not as easy to work with. Plus, this is so small it fits\ in your shirt pocket and has a clip to secure it there! This is super easy to use! I highly recommend it!

Very handy in homes that are pre-wired with coax cables running throughout. The tool is very well made, typical Klein quality. My coax and audio/video cables are located in a central wiring box (much like an electrical circuit breaker box), but, my coax cables aren't labeled, so I don't know where each cable runs. This tool is easy to use and the tone generated is loud and shrill enough to hear easily across a number of rooms. It also has lighted responses right on the handset indicating the continuity of the line. A big help to track down where each coax starts and ends.
I just moved into a new house and nothing was labeled anywhere. So I got this nifty tool and I figured out what goes where in 15 min. I was able to hook up my modem with ease. It beeps once it finds a signal .What a great buy.

The included GFCI receptacle tester detects common wiring problems in standard and GFCI protected outlets. Simply plug it in and view the light pattern on the tester to determine if it's correct, open ground, open neutral, open hot, hot/grd reverse, or hot/neu reverse. Tester works on 110-125 VAC receptacles only and will not indicate quality of ground. The battery tester tests common household battery types (AA, AAA, C, D, and 9-Volt batteries) to determine existing charge.
