Rechargeable Headlamp and Work Light, 300 Lumens, 3 Modes

The headlamp is to be used with the Klein Tools hard hat as there is no strap included. There are three modes that the light provides depending on the light you need and whether a focus pattern or wide angle is desired. This really comes in handy if working close up and need more of a diffused spread out light pattern. Another nice feature is the LED battery gauge that goes from green to yellow to red to provide state of charge from the battery. There is a strong magnet on the back which allows the headlight to be stored against a metal toolbox or provide a source of stationary light. The included charging cable is USB on one end and USB-C on the other which connects to the headlight. While micro-USB seems to be popular for many items, be sure to have the proper cable handy for charging. Once fully charged the battery lasts quite a long time.

A very handy light. The Klein Tools Rechargeable Headlamp/Worklight But, it’s not just your ordinary hat light; it’s your very own personal light as well. 100, 215 and 300 lumens of light with the simple 3 sequence press of a button. The light is obviously is removeable & rechargeable but, what else. It has a magnetic backing and allows for up to a 64° tilt. Therefore, this light is quite the personal and very versatile light. Very, very well done Klein!

This is a review of the Klein Tools 300 -Lumens Rechargeable Headlamp and Worklight. This is a pretty nice light but one thing to keep in mind is that this light will only attach to Klein hard hats or a Klein head band. It also has a really strong magnet on the back that works really good. I was able to get 4.5 hours of run time on the All On mode. I also got 14 hours on the flood mode. I like the color/temperature of the light. In the All on mode you get some really decent illumination.

A strap pinched by pivot allows light to be suspended in confined space and turned to specific area, great for use in wall cavities. Magnetic is strong for secure attachment. Battery level indicator is great. Easy on - off push switch is easy to find. Great handy work light. After several weeks use, highly satisfied with lights versatility, performance, and small size. Another durable reliable well made Klein product.

Small, compact and bright: the three best descriptors for this light. I have found Klein Tools to be well made and reliable and this seems to fit that mold nicely. The fact that it is rechargeable (it uses a USB-C cable, included) is also a nice bonus, as you don’t have to mess with replacing batteries, but it does mean you have to be on top of the charge level. One disappointment is that it is not really a headlamp, unless you have a Klein hard hat or one with a slot to latch the light into (it does not have a head strap or can fit one); however, it is good as a small portable worklight, especially since it has a strong magnet in the back and can be tilted at angles up to about 60 degrees. It does not have a large ‘throw’ as lights go but for close work under a hood of a car, or going through a tool drawer it is more than adequate. It seems to have good a runtime using the brightest setting (I have easily got 4 hours without noticeable dimming) and its small size allows it to be easily carried in your pocket, or placed in your glove compartment. A good buy as a gift.

This headlamp/worklight comes without a headlamp strap and since my hardhat does not have a compatible bracket system, I bought a Klein bracket strap (Klein cat no. 56060) to mount it on. The lamp attaches and detaches easily from the bracket, so I’m still able to use it handheld or with the magnet. The magnet is strong enough to mount the lamp on most steel items, even those with curved surfaces. The lamp can be pivoted on the bracket at angles of approximately 0, 15, 30, 45 and 64°. (0° is with lamp vertical on bracket.) The spot beam has a half-angle divergence of about 10°, and I’ve found that its useful range is 5 feet or less. When the lamp is in floodlight mode (two side LEDs on), the beam profile is roughly rectangular. I don’t notice a lot of increased illumination when the lamp is in “boost” mode (all three LEDs on). The lamp without strap weights 2.6 ounces, and it is not uncomfortably heavy. The illumination-time specification for the spot mode (215 lumens) is 9 hours. I haven’t measured the actual illumination times, but I’ve used the lamp for many hours without having to recharge it. The LEDs on the battery gauge are helpful for knowing how much battery power is remaining. The lamp comes with a cable for recharging. The power supply end of the cable has a USB type A connector and the light end has a USB type C connector. The location of the type C connection on the headlamp/worklight is on the right side, and the light can be charged without removing it from the bracket. All-in-all, it’s a useful spot lamp with decent illumination and longer-than-average runtime. It doesn't come with a head strap and it's designed to fit the custom bracket on the Klein hard hat, so it’s a little more limited in application that other headlamps/worklights.

I was surprised by this light. Although it is small, it is bright. I have been able to put it in places where I could not get a flashlight or my regular work light. The magnet on the back lets me stick it any metal surface and it stays put. Generally the first setting light is bright enough, but if not the second setting where all three lights are on is definitely bright enough. 300 lumens is bright. Seems to be well-made and the cable to charge is long enough to set anywhere. Only thing missing is a stretch band to mount on a cap. This light will be in my tool bag all the time. Nice addition!

The Klein 300 headlamp includes everything needed to get going out of the box - except for the hard hat. I was looking for a light that I wouldn't have to fool with batteries to keep it going. The Klein 300 has a built-in battery with an LED battery gauge right on the front of the lamp and the Klein includes the USB-C cable. It recharges quick with my portable power pack - typically less than 1 hour. Battery life is about what is stated; I use the mid level (215 lumens) and I can get several days with intermittent use. What I like about the Klein is the versatility. Because it is not strap mounted; either clip (hard hat) or magnetic. The Klein light is handy for other hands-free lighting tasks. The only con is the "soft" positioning hinge. The tilt hinge of the Klein has a tendency to flip out of position such as when going down stairs. Also, the light doesn't stand out enough to show light over the hard hat visor. This is a personal issue to me, I seldom find a hard hat light that can point down past the visor. This is for when I have to read checklist documents, but for the most part, this light is everything I could want; waterproof, dust resistant, adjustable and easy to use.

The Klein #56062 rechargeable headlamp is an excellent lighting accessory for the Klein hard hat or Klein Tool’s bracketed strap. This is not your typical “miner’s headlamp” as it does not come with a head strap as it was designed to be attached to the Klein hardhat or use the included strong magnet to attach the headlamp to a ferrous metal surface. This molded headlamp only weighs 2.5 oz and is conveniently sized to fit in the palm of your hand put don’t let its small size fool you as its light is very powerful. For mounting the headlamp on the hardhat, the headlamp itself has a “U” clip the quickly slips into the molded Klein hard hat bracket thus allowing your hands to be free to work, use tools, or see and freely move about the worksite in the dark. The headlamp has a 4-position ratcheting 64-degree hinge that allows the headlamp to be positioned to shine light directly where it is needed. The lamp has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and it comes with a USB-C charging cable, with three test light color LED (Light Emitting Diode) lights that will be lite in various light combinations to indicate battery strength and when the battery needs to recharged. The output light combinations include: flood/low mode has 100 lumens and has a 14-hour battery life, the spot/high mode has 215 lumens and has a 9-hour battery life, and the all-on/boost mode has 300 lumens and has a 4-hour battery life before recharging. All in all, this is an excellent and dependable headlamp, especially for the tradesperson while on the jobsite and in poor lighting conditions.

FOR KLEIN HARDHATS; LIGHTWEIGHT; NO HEAD STRAP; STRONG MAGNET; PIVOTS; BATTERY LEVEL INDICATOR —The Klein Tools 300 -Lumens Rechargeable Headlamp and Worklight, All-Day Runtime, Blacks is intended primarily for use with a Klein hard hat since it does not come with a head strap. Since it weighs only 2 ½ ounces and gives off considerable light (300 lumens), a version with a head strap would be useful. Since I don’t own a Klein hard hat and my hard hat is not metallic, I have still found it useful in some situations since it has a strong magnet on the back. For example, it has helped me in my workshop since it pivots up to 64 degrees and can be rotated to focus light onto my work area. On the low level (100 lumens) which is sufficient for many tasks, the battery has a run time of 14 hours but even in the floodlight mode (200 lumens), it has a battery run time of 9 hours. If you hold down the power button, it has a battery level indicator on the side which lets you know the battery charge remaining depending upon which of the four lights are lit (red, yellow, and two greens). It comes with a USB-C charging cable. It is made in China.
