Rechargeable Headlamp with Silicone Strap, 400 Lumens, 3 Modes

I do love this headlamp for many reasons. First it is a USB rechargeable one which means I do not have to keep buying batteries. Second is the three settings of the amount of Lumens that I can set this headlamp to. From low 100 lumens (can be on for 22 hours) to medium 200 lumens (can last up to 12 hours) or full power 400 lumens (that can last up to 4 hours). With these lumen settings I do not get glare like I do with other 500 lumen settings, I find that the settings on this headlamp works great for me in various needs. I also love the silicone head strap, it is 3/4" wide x 1/8" thick (which will last way better that elastic head straps). It will also stay clean or you can easily wipe it off from dirt compared to elastic straps. Also this headlamp can be removed from the strap to fit in special "V" grooved hardhats. The headlamp is 1.5" thick(including back pivot) x 2" high x 2.5" wide (so called slim profile - not so slim), but I like to think that it has this beefy housing to last better. The pivot action allows up to a 64 degree angle. I do hope that the plastic grooves on this pivot will last better and not break like other pivot lamps that I've had. Also the manufactures says that this headlamp can withstand a 6 foot drop without breaking and that it is IP54 (Protected from water spray from any direction and also limited dust protection).

This rechargeable headlamp was specifically designed to snap-on to a Klein hard hat or strap-on other hard hats with the silicone provided strap. The silicone strap is which would adhere to any hard hat surfaces without slipping off. The LED headlamp itself will dismount from the strap if you want to hand hold it for direct light. The headlamp itself is 400 lumens and is completely rechargeable with a provided cord has a 4 hour run time for 400 lumens, 12 hour run time for 200, and 22 hours for 100% lumens it will accept a 6-ft fall and still work and is water resistant. Has the built-in Auto sensing technology that will turn off the lamp after 3 minutes in bright light to save the battery, made in China

The Klein headlamp offers three light levels: Floodlight, Spotlight, and Boost. In use, there's plenty of light for my purposes (I'm a homeowner / DIY'er and a semi-retired I.T. tech). Charging is simple - it's a standard mini-USB connection. Only the cable is included, not the charger plug. Not having to change aaa or aa batteries is a huge plus. There are battery charge indicator lights to show available power (see photo). The lamp comes out of the headband mount for easy charging. The unit weighs about 3 ounces - barely noticeable. What is noticeable, however, is the silicone strap. If I'm wearing a hard hat there's no issue, but I rarely wear a hard hat for home chores. Without a hat I find that the strap tends to trap and pull on my hair when I'm putting the lamp on or removing it. A reversed baseball cap helps. YMMV. I had to change the battery in one of our cars; the battery is trunk mounted and hard to get to and there's no lighting on the battery mounts. A hard hat was simply too cumbersome for the job - that's when I found the hair pulling problem. But the lamp did light up the trunk (with a vengeance!) and made working on the battery cables much easier. Since the lamp is obviously designed to work with hard hats, I don't think downgrading the review would be fair. Note that when the strap is in place it doesn’t pull my hair, only when trying to get the strap in place or remove the lamp. There's a feature that I don't use at all - an "auto-off" sensor that automatically powers the lamp off in bright light. For home projects I just haven't felt the need to set that up. The on/off switch is easy to reach and can be used with work gloves, so I just use that to power up / power off the lamp. The lamp is "water resistant" - not waterproof. I'd feel comfortable changing a flat tire in the rain. The lamp offers six-foot drop protection. The Klein puts light where you need it, when you need it. It works as advertised and you can't ask for much more than that.

The Klein 400 headlamp battery lasts a long time. There is a cool set of LED lights on the side that indicate battery percentage left. This is a great feature. No more guessing. The silicon strap is a no slip strap to attach the headlamp to many types of safety helmets. I did not have to use the silicon strap with my Klein safety helmet. The headlamp just clips in securely. The lights are super bright. There is a center bright spotlight. And there are two side diffused lights that just make the area bright. The light is easy to assemble and charge. See the video. This headlamp is a perfect little design. Nice and bright and easy to charge. Also the rubber strap makes it sticky on your hard hat and also the light is removable from the harness.

Perfect. Silicone band doesn't hold sweat and rechargable battery works great. Plenty of light.

I absolutely love everything about it except after awhile the plastic teeth wear off and the light just flops down. I’ve been exiled from every Klein retailer in my area because I have returned so many. Fix that problem and then you will have a five star product!
