Purchased this 6 months ago and worked fine. Got it out yesterday and the battery is dead and there's no way to replace the battery. Will go out and buy a unit that I can change the battery when it runs out. 25 bucks down the drain.

Disposable - Beware - Unit uses a non-rechargeable, non-replaceable battery
Works fine until the battery runs out, then it's trash and you get to buy another one. (Actually when the battery runs out it's worse than trash, legally you can't throw it out, you have to dispose of it at a hazardous materials site.) The notice about the non-replaceable hazmat battery is in small print that I didn't see until I had opened the packaging. Next time I'll purchase the equivalent Southwire model (almost the exact same price) that works with replaceable batteries.

No . This is not a easy design when you have 10 - 20 different cables to test. It is a huge pain to screw and unscrew to all the 20 end points to find the right fit.

This is a really valuable tool to trace coax cables....
This is a really valuable tool to trace coax cables. The only problem is the signal doesn't pass through all types of splitters. If you have an older splitter, you will need to find it and trace the wires from there.Other than that, it works as advertised.
