Not a friction twist lock design
Although the product description indicates friction twist lock, this product is not a twist lock. Each section must be fully extended to engage the friction. As a result the product is either 37 inches long (collapsed with hook) or 18 feet long (fully extended) but nothing in between. So if you have a shorter pull of cable in a tight confine, this product is not helpful. In addition, if you are tight on space and need to collapse the pole as you pull the cable, each section you collapse becomes loose and if you don’t have the bottom of the pole secure it can slide away and extend again. Outside of this, the product is sturdy and the hook is strong. The hook also has a small hole in it for attaching a wire or different kind of leader. The hook screws in so there is a potential for purchasing other hook types should they be made available.

Very Long Reach
Whether you are in a drop ceiling or climbing around in an attic, if you are pulling low-voltage wire, cabling, coax, for data, video, alarm and other uses, you will need the Wire Spanner Plus. This pole extends to a total of 18 feet, yet stores in only 32 inches when retracted; much smaller than similar telescopic poles, and it has a carry strap. Its compact size makes it easy to get into drop ceilings. The hook end is strong but not bendable. You can attach to it by wrapping the wire around the hook, taping onto the hook, or using an accessory like the wire-mesh grip. A foam plug on the end holds the pole pieces together in place. Overall, the unit is very lightweight and portable. I was using it in an attic with insulation and was easily able to pull cable where I needed it, without the tool getting caught up in other wires and the insulation.

    Timesaver wire puller
This telescoping pole is a great tool to have if you are running low voltage wiring in ceilings or even under crawl spaces. It can get in tight spots that you can not get to otherwise. I used a home made golf ball retriever for years before I found this one. I use it daily and would be lost without it. It is well made, durable, and I love it.

      Great tool
Working in ceiling with a lot of beams the flexible fiberglass rods flexed to much for the distance, telescopic pole has much more control
