What is the inner diameter. It's unclear if the specs given refer to the inside diameter, which would tell you the max diameter rod you could use.

Robyn - he inner diameter is 1-5/8". The flange has a special locator/protrusion that fits a notch in the matching closet pole. Any other pole will hit the locator and not fit. It will only work with the P35-2438BN.

You didn't answer the question that was asked about the ID of the bracket which would determine what size pole you could use. I would like to use these brackets to install a curtain rod (used as a room divider not for a window) which has an OD of one inch. The curtain goes from wall to wall. Will this work?

The description of the pole says that the OD of the pole is 1.39 so there for barely over 1 3/8" OD - 1 25/64" to be exact. So with that said I would say a 1 3/8" closet rod would be the best size to use with this bracket.

These flanges hold the Sideline's 1 5/16" diameter closet pole. The part number of the pole is 204082776.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs extra work to use The flanges are supposed to fit the 1-1/4" closet pole. In theory, they do, but to install them requires additional, unexpected steps. First, there are two metal prongs on the wall side, spaced 32mm apart. These are meant to fit into 5mm system holes, typical on European-style cabinetry. If your closet walls are not line-bored in this manner, you will need to mark and drill the two holes yourself, spaced evenly above and below the center screw hole. This requires time, accuracy, and a drill setup. Second, the inside of the closed flange has a flat piece of metal, protruding on the inside of the flange, meant to fit into the slot of a slotted closet pole. The 1-1/4" pole sold along with the flanges set, has a seamless outside, and will not fit into the closed flange without notching the end of the pole about 1/2" deep by 1/8" wide. I accomplished this with a reciprocating saw with a hacksaw blade, bit it was a time-consuming job. All in all, what should have been a simple procedure, drilling a pilot hole and driving a screw into each flange hole, became a very time-consuming and exacting job. Bottom line: The flanges do not fit the pole, but need to be made to fit. Very frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flanges work great. Closet pole flanges work great. Each set of has two flanges, one of them has locking tabs so the pole won't spin. You must be make careful measurement when cutting the closet pole so you don't cut the pole too short. They are made of thick gauge steel or iron.
