There are 12 pieces to a bag, 15 Bags on a pallet. 15X12 =180 pieces total for the pallet.

By|Oct 15, 2026

For the R30 Kraft Faced 24 in. x 48 in. (8-Bags in a Pallet), (88 sqft per bag) = 704 sq ft Coverage per Pallet

    By|Oct 14, 2026

How are you getting 1017 sq ft for the 15 bags? 15 in x 93 in = 1395 sq in = 9.6875 sq ft. Now multiply x 15 (15 bags) to get 145.3125 sq ft total. How are you getting 7x's this number?

      Answer This Question

Each bag has 7 batt pieces in a bag(each batt pieces is 9.6875 sq. ft. X 7 batt pieces = 67.81 sq. ft.). Each bag has 67.81 sq. ft. 67.81 X 15 bags = 1017.15 sq. ft.

I have condensation forming on my bathroom ceiling , if I turn on the bathroom exhaust fan and leave it on during hot peek hr's 12 to 7 pm , no condensation forms . My attic floor just above the bathroom is bare . Will adding No Face insulation work ?
          ByJun 23, 2026
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

Installing insulation in the attic should assist with this issue. Also, please ensure that your exhaust fan is vented to the outside and not just into your attic.

I have a 2x6 cathedral ceiling with 5.5 inch available space. I also need to install vent baffles with 1.5 inch air gap. This would mean compressing the R21 batts by 1.5 inches. Will it easily compress 1.5 inches and how much R value will I lose? Thanks.
            ByJun 22, 2026
            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

Compression Impact: Squeezing R-21 into a smaller cavity increases its density, which can help with air movement resistance but reduces the overall insulating value. This reduction will bring the Rvalue to R16 - R18.

Can you use this in walls of a house in New York state
                ByJun 9, 2026
                1 Answer |
                Answer This Question

If you walls are 2X4 you would need to use R11, R13 or R15, if your walls are 2X6, you would need to use R19 or R21. When compressing insulation, you are reducing the overall total R-value because you lose thickness and trap less air. You may go to KnaufNorthAmerica.com and go to "HOW TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT INSULATION R-VALUE" for more information, we also have a calculator that may be used.

Bought this product mainly for the garage ceiling insulation, by easy cutting and right size I was able to complete the job in less time, especially working in attic during summer! I should have dressed up in special gear as recommended but was only with long sleeve shirts, pants . After installation and took a shower throughly,I did not get much itchiness feels as I thought from old time what’s fiberglass would get you , but that’s only me, you should have more protection gears when working with stuff like that.

Thank you for purchasing Knauf Insulation. We provide recommended types of PPE when using insulation, this information is located on the bags. The PPE recommended long sleeve shirt, pants, gloves and googles. KnaufInsulation
Easy to handle by myself for a 500 sq ft small town home, I was picking up with suv, and HD helped me load it twice. Don’t know if I would do it again, but highly recommended for DIY with my same situation if some one is reinstalling attic insulation.

Insulation is not itchy. Paper is strong and insulation is adhered well to it. I let it sit for a day before using to allow it to fluff back up. Great value!

Beware of Return Policy Lies — Store Will Deny Individual SKUs
The thermal performance is standard, but the return process for this special order is an absolute nightmare. Before purchasing, we were explicitly promised by Home Depot that any leftover packs could be returned because they have individual SKU numbers. That turned out to be false. Both the local store management and regular customer service completely refused to accept the return. We had to bypass the store entirely and escalate the issue to the District Manager and Corporate Care Team to finally get our refund processed. If you are buying in bulk, do not trust what the store associates promise you. Recheck everything before you order.

I own an older home that had less than 3" of insulation in the attic and needed more insulation from the South Florida sun. Home Depot online ordering made for an easy way to order the insulation. They were also very helpful loading the insulation in my truck. The 48" Bates are easy to move around in the cramped attic space. The R38 or 12"thick Bates are a little harder to cut around ducts and lights but it all worked out. This section on the house of the house was 2 pallets covering about 1000sf of my 1400sf home has been done for 2 weeks. Definitely ordering 1 more pallet to complete the remainder of my attic space. Looking forward to lower AC bill this summer.

I insulted an attic space for a customer who was feeling cold in her home and found she only had two inches of blown in insulation in her attic. I installed the R30 throughout and it’s nice and cozy in her home now.
