Questions & Answers

Is it okay to use in standing water?

Standing water in toilet. Can I use this plunger in standing water?
Asked by: CM
It may need standing water to work. Just don't stand in the water yourself.

Strength is measured on a continuum. We have no way of knowing unless you give us some objective measurement of your strength.

Cleaning

For those of you who've used this, how do you go about cleaning the "gunk" out? Looks like its sealed.
Asked by: Ruth
Follow standard general degunking and sanitizing procedures. You can also get a plunger holder drip tray.

can it be used on sinks
Asked by: Fireman
Absolutely! That's what I use it for. It fits over popup-drains in bath sinks and fits right into the sunken drain on kitchen sinks. It also fits over round drains on tubs and showers- gets an excellent seal on all of them!

Customer Reviews

Beehive Max Toilet Plunger is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 660.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! This plunger works. It works in our Kohler Cimmaron 1.28 gallons per flush toilets that do not have a round outlet to the bowl. Other plungers do not seal the outlet, and they take a lot of plunging to dislodge a blockage. This plunger immediately seals the outlet and pushes the liquid out of the bowl. It has a good plastic handle that screws into the base to assemble it. The plastic handle has a horizontal T at the end for pushing and pulling that is handy, and my other plungers do not have that feature. The rubber bottom of the plunger seems to fit into the opening of the bowl and each time you push on it it forces liquid out of the bowl, so that after five pushes the bowl is empty, and even before that the clog is moved along. The rubber bottom is black, which doesn’t show dirt or anything on the rubber. I would prefer a red color like my other plungers, or any color that would show a substance on the rubber so that I could be aware of it and clean it off. This plunger works.

This two handed Korky crapper clog clearing contraption worked wonderfully. Had carpet installed and one of the workers clogged the toilet in my second floor bathroom (so gravity was in my favor the whole time). I tried a full bottle of 67.6 oz. Hair and Grease Drain Opener (lye) let it set for a week with no success. I then tried a quart of Liquid fire (95% sulfuric acid) with plenty of water between (2 bowl fulls a day for a week) so they wouldn't counteract and then a lot of plunging with a flanged toilet plunger that didn't really seal well. This was my last resort before getting a snake (or shotgun) to unclog it. Fortunately this worked after about 10 "plunges". I don't know what the guy ate or what was wrong with him to clog up a toilet so badly but I feel sorry for his plumbing at home and fortunately this fixed it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MUST if you have a newer design toilet with the "keyhole" shape around the drain! I installed a new Kohler Comfort Height high efficiency toilet a couple of months ago when the 30+ year old toilet developed a leak between the tank and bowl. (The wife made me replace instead of repair!) Since then I have had to do something three times that I can't remember doing twice with the old toilet: Plunge a stoppage. The review for that toilet will not be pretty, but I did find the solution to the odd shaped drain in the Kohler with this plunger. The Kohler has a "keyhole" shaped opening leading to the round drain - there is little chance a conventional plunger will make a good seal to push or pull water against the clog. That is unless you have this plunger. Oh, it took a few strokes, it's not magic, but in two minutes I cleared a clog that two other cup style plungers had not budged. Not perfect, but it got the job done when nothing else would. If you have a Kohler you know what I am talking about- this is for you. If you don't this will be so easy you won't even believe it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the Job Done Bought this when our regular plunger didn't work at our new house and it worked a charm. Unblocked the toiled first time of asking, no drama, no mess, just in, out and fixed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definetly perfect plunger for a Toto I have an accordian style punger that's served me well for many years, but about 4 years ago I replaced all my toilets with Toto Drakes and haven't had much need for a plunger. Unfortunately today it finally clogged and my old plunger as it only pushes just made the clog worse. After reading a review of the Korky Beehive Max by someone else with a Toto Drake I ran over to Home Depot and bought one. it worked like a charm. Two plunges and the clog was gone. My wife was suggesting on calling a plumber. This bad boy did the trick and saved the cost of a house call. I highly recommend it if you have a Toto, for those very rare times it clogs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ugly Plunger Gets The Job Done I have used this plunger several times now on two toilets and it was very quick and efficient in unclogging both low flow toilet bowl designs. The most recent clog was nearly an entire roll of toilet paper that had been completely unwound, wadded up, and crammed into toilet by our two year old before he proceeded to flush the toilet several times. Needless to say by this time the clog was wedged tightly in the trap and the bowl was nearly full of water, but it wasn't at all difficult for this plunger to clear without even making a mess. The only negative thing about this plunger is that it is obviously rather large and unattractive. Some plungers come with a decorative cover or can easily be hidden in a corner or behind the tank, but that would be a challenge with this plunger. Of course you don't buy a plunger for decoration, and this design makes it very good at taking care of business. Just make sure you have somewhere to keep it out of sight if you object to having a big ugly plunger sitting out beside the toilet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take the plunge! I got this plunger after I had put in new, higher efficiency toilets and found that my old plunger just did not fit the shape of the bowl. I don't have need to un-stop a toilet very often, but after my last episode, and viewing some videos on YouTube, I decided I needed to upgrade. Wouldn't you know that it wouldn't take long before I needed to take the plunge. Well, not really that, but you know what I mean. So, I was somewhat excited (or should I say curious), to see how this Korky worked. I can say that I couldn't have been more pleased. This thing really made a difference. It was over so quick that I found myself asking what took me so long to upgrade. I've seen similar shaped plungers, but this one seem to be all one piece, with a T-handle, which helps with the push-pull motion. Okay so what's the excitement over a new plunger? Nothing, unless you're the one doing the work, and this is a good one.
