Q:Which Kreg tool can I use for these screws? I'm not sure the head will fit in the holes created by my current Kreg tool. I don't remember what model it is. I'm planning to miter and pocket screw 1" composite decking boards to picture frame deck stairs.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Blue-Kote Screws will work with any standard Kreg Jig that uses a 3/8" drill bit. It will not work with the Micro or XL Jigs.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. No these will not work as the heads are too large to pass through the guides in the jig. You will need the Kreg Deck Screws.

Q:Can I use the blue kreg screws through cement board? I am hanging something heavy from the wall and I would like to go through the cement board and into a wall stud.

I used these screws when building some outdoor furniture for our patio. They are fantastic, and are the perfect size for using with regular 2x4 dimensional lumber. Kreg recommends a 2.5" screw to be used with 1.5" thick material. Although Kreg makes a jig for larger lumber such as a 2x4, I was able to drill the holes on my Kreg K5 Pocket Hole Jig. These screws are fantastic, and I have never had one strip out, or come out of the box damaged or bent in any way. The Blue coating adds a bit more weather resistance, which I need up here in the pacific northwest. Our outdoor furniture stays outside year round, and the screws lasted through both last winter and this winter so far. I am very impressed with the holding power of these and will continue to purchase Kreg brand as long as they keep up with the great quality.
