Questions & Answers

will the ring fit a large raised panel bit, it looks like the hole is very small, for small bits

Asked by: Skip
just barely, but yes. i have a set of Freud raised panel bits with a 3-1/2 inch diameter panel bit. I think i put a sacrificial fence on it so the opening could be big enough for the bit. Still had to check to be sure it didn't hit the fence but it worked.

Can this table accommodate a Ridgid router installation?

Can this table accommodate a Ridgid router installation?
Asked by: Luckyetb
yes, my Ridgid R2200 works fine but I had to drill the holes for it in the insert plate. The plate material is very tough; if you are off slightly it is very difficult to sand or "stretch" a hole. So take your time measuring and setting up the drilling.

What are the dimensions of this table when fully assembled? I need to know if this will fit on my shelf that is under my workbench. Actually, the height is the most important dimension to me because I want to store it on that shelf and I need to know if it will fit or not. Thanks.

Getting the table together and set up is a little more daunting than necessary. Drilling the holes to match your router using the instructions and even watching a video is a pain in the rear, even using a drill press. Routers use such small screws that if your holes are off by even 1/32 then you're going to have problems. That's why I'm taking one star away. Kreg should develop a better system for this. That said, after many curse words and modification, this is a great router table. The surface is a pleasure to work with and the fence is perfect. The rubber feet stick it to wherever you put it, even in a saw-dusty environment. I would buy it again if I had to.

Surprisingly the template for mounting the Router had the necessary holes pre-marked for my Ridgid router which I did not know prior to purchasing the table. I did have to make a slight adjustment to one of the holes to make my router fit though. I purchased some Kreg featherboards and the power supply to go with it to make it a complete package. I will likely build a small portable table to set this on for ease of use.

It is well built and very sturdy. I put a Triton Router on the table and even though it's heavy the table was able to handle it. Working with the router table is a pleaser-no vibration to mess up the cut. The fence was easy to work with. Even though I really like this table, If I was going to do it again, I would buy the upright floor table. The fence on the floor seems better. It has more to it. Either way this table is very sturdy and fun to use. I would recommend this table to anyone who has a router. It's easier and safer than free hand. Kreg puts out great tools.

Works exactly the way I figured, only problem which is not a big problem the guide rail when both handles are loosened does not move both sides exactly in unison. I still give a five star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable table After looking for some time at portable router tables I ordered the Kreg. I looked at many tables in person but from the description and reviews I bought the Kreg sight unseen. It should not be compared with a home built shop table but for my purposes of traveling to other project sites it is working very well. Good stable table that is easily adjusted and I have made some portable extensions for longer pieces. I can't imagine wearing this table out or wanting to replace it.
