AnswersSure, but why would you want to? The knots are not flush and would look like there are big divers in the painted wood. You can just get a much cheaper smooth door to paint

AnswersThe one I order was a door slab and not a pre hung. you can order a pre hung if you need it. In the picture , the door on the left is a pre hung 24 inch. The 28 x 80 Krosswood door is the one with the barn door railing and rollers. The 28 X 80 is for the walk in closet.

AnswersAs with any wooden object, modifications can be made. The top panel could be removed, but I would suggest using extreme care and weighing the benefits gained to the beauty lost before doing so. We pondered what the door would look like with glass, but opted not to change anything about it, it's far too fantastic a door as it is.

We purchased two slab doors for use as sliding closet doors. The doors are of excellent quality and match three prehung doors we purchased a couple of months ago that were also excellent. I only had one issue with one of the two doors. One came with a gouge in it most likely from improper handling during shipping. I was able to fill the gouge with wood filler, however, it will never look as good as it would have without the damage. Since it was a closet door, I figured I could live with it by simply having the filled gouge facing inward.

These doors were Almost exactly what we were looking for... they will end up looking phenomenal ! My only disappointment is the knotty adler around the top, bottom , and sides is only a veneer. In my installation, I had to rip ~ 1 inch off of each side (purchased 30” wide, needed 28” wide) that’s when I realized the solid wood... meant two types of wood: a lighter colored (likely soft pine), with a 1/16” veneer of the nice knotty adler. I’m fine with it... some extra effort with stains, anc it’s only the edge of a pair of these, installed as a simple 2-door, bypass pair for a laundry closet. It happens to be in the kitchen, so we’re attempting to make it look nice. Very happy with this purchase, given the options...
