Good question! Rust-Oleum Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover removers a variety of paints from aluminum, brick, cinder block, concrete, fiberglass, formica, glass, metals, plastic, stainless steel, street signs, stucco, tile, terrazzo and vinyl. While Graffiti Remover is not a dye remover, you can test it on a small area to see if it produces favorable results. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

Can this be used to remove leather paint on a canvas purse?

Asked by Carolina October 17, 2019

Answers

Happy to help clear things up, Carolina! Rust-Oleum Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover would not be recommended to remove paint splatter on fabric. Instead, consider Krud Kutter Latex Paint Remover. Latex Paint Remover is ideal for cleaning spills and splatters on hard or soft and porous surfaces like fabric. Do not use on the leather and as always, test first in an inconspicuous area. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Krud-Kutter-24-oz-Latex-Paint-Remover-336249/305457504 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 4

Great question, Nate! When using Rust-Oleum Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover on a porous surfaces, such as brick, we recommend thoroughly spraying the area and allowing the product to penetrate for 5-10 minutes. After that point, use a brush to agitate and loosen the graffiti before hosing the surface off with water or a pressure washer. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Did not work on sidewalk
The gas and water companies painted those marks (to indicate where their pipes are) on the sidewalk outside my home about 1.5 months ago. I tried to remove them with this product and followed the directions. I allowed the product to soak about 7 or 8 minutes, then scrubbed it. It removed about 25% (maybe the top layer) of the paint. A waste of money. The paint is still out there; next time I will read reviews more carefully I guess.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Keep in mind that to fully remove paint, multiple applications may be required. We recommend contacting your local county gas or water department to request more information about the paint that was used. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5 Rustoleum
ASTONISHING!!!
This stuff is crazy! It works incredibly well. I am an artist I often paint on my concrete patio and have for the 6 years I have lived in my home (which I rent) I admit that I am not super tidy in my artistic expression so I had 6 years of Texas sun dried acrylic paint all over the concrete patio. This stuff made short work of it. If any spots were making me scrub too hard I just doused them and waited a bit longer and they came of almost as easily as a dry erase board. I rarely write reviews. But man I am seriously impressed

Something is amiss here, Amanda. Please keep in mind that Rust-Oleum Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover will need to be applied multiple times for more difficult surfaces. Make sure to wait 3 to 5 minutes for hard and soft surfaces and 5 to 10 minutes for porous surfaces. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5 Rustoleum

I needed to remove the paint on the house numbers of my residence and repaint them. Since they were permanently mounted with mastic I had to remove the old paint in place. I used a standard paint remover product to to loosen the red paint on the house numbers, then brushed the loosened paint away. The paint came off quickly, and slid down the front of the house. Before I knew it, there were paint splatters and streaks all over the white stone work of the house. The solvents in the paint stripper had reactivated the old paint, causing it to bond to the stone work. I then masked off the stone work with plastic trash bags, but it was too late, the damage was done. I tried using the paint stripper to remove the paint splatter from the stone work, but it didn't work. I also thought about sandblasting to remove the paint splatter, but this is a messy and time consuming process. I realized I had a situation similar to graffiti tagging: unwanted paint on stone or brick. It occurred to me to research commercial graffiti remover products, and I saw this one on the Home Depot web site. A quick trip to Home Depot and I looked at a variety of graffiti remover products. Krud Kutter is manufactured by Rust-Oleum, and who knows more about paint than them?? I sprayed the product on the paint splatter, allowed it to soak for 10 minutes, then brushed stiffly, first with a bristle brush. I later found a wire brush, particularly a small wire "detail" style brush, worked best. The paint splatter lifted from the surface, became liquid, and when I power washed the stone work, the staining was completely gone. I repeated the process the next day, in order to remove some spots that I had missed. The stone work is spotless now, and looks better than ever.
