SmartKey Security is kick-in resistant, bump proof, pick resistant, drill resistant, and saw resistant. Kwikset SmartKey Security also allows you to re-key the lock yourself in seconds, leaving lost or unreturned keys obsolete.
Re-Key as Easy as 1-2-3
Before you start re-keying, you must have your functioning key, your new KW1 key, and the SmartKey Learn tool.
Step 1
Insert the key that currently operates your lock, and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
Step 2
A) Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole.
B) Remove the SmartKey tool and the current key.
Step 3
A) Fully insert your new key into the lock and rotate it 180 degrees.
B) Rotate the new key 90 degrees back to the starting position, and remove it. Your lock is now re-keyed to your new key, and your old key will no longer operate the lock.

Easy to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed it by myself in 10 minutes.... that includes the time it took to take my regular deadbolt off. Super easy installation as long as you had another style deadbolt there before. If I can install this, anyone can. Came with 2 keys & they glide like butter. The lock does too. Super smooth & great quality.

Locked up right!

We have door knob locks, but my wife has been wanting to add deadbolts too, so we did! Love being able to re key

One of the features I like best is that it’s able to be re-keyed with any number of quickset locks. That way it can be matched to other keys in the house or if you own an apartment complex or other rental unit you can re-key it every time a tenant moves out.
