These knobs are good looking and work well when the parts are all made and assembled correctly, but based on the 12 knobs (9 passage + 3 privacy models) I purchased, it was clear their quality control is seriously lacking, and so I switched brands for the remainder of the house. At least 4, or 1/3 (33%!), of the knobs had threading problems with the receiving "barrel" needing to have the threads chased because there was some crud in the barrel, and with 2 of the knobs, the screw simply could not be screwed in far enough to secure the knob, and I had to use my Dremel to shorten the screws by about 1/4" to make the knobs usable. (The screws were not cross-threaded or damaged, and could be interchanged with any other screws and the problem was due solely to the threading in the barrel part.) Also, the brass base plate under the nickel cover was not always aligned so the screw holes in it were centered in the corresponding holes in the nickel part, and it had to be twisted to align (not always easy due to crimped assembly method). Quikset, and HD, lost several hundred dollars in knob and lock sales because of this.

Poor Quality-Sticky operation-Time Consuming Install
Kwikset quality has really declined. These knobs "Look" good but good function is lacking. Kwikset over enginered the installation process by allowing you to leave the screws in one side of the knob assembly and then turn the other side. The flaw is it is very difficult to get the screw heads to hit the indentations and then the beauty cover screw hole indentations scratch the finish of the screw heads. Also once the whole assembly is installed the knobs have extreme resistance to tuning - so much so that the bolt retracts, sticks and then the door won't stay latched/closed. I had spend so much time readjusting how they were positioned to get the knob to turn freely and operate correctly. Will never use these again - ever!
