The SmartCode touchpad electronic deadbolt is a one Touch locking motorized deadbolt. With your personalized code, you can enter your home with the convenience of keyless entry and the back-lit keypad provides increased visibility. SmartCode is easy to install, program and use and operates on 4 AA batteries. It also features SmartKey Security as the back-up keyway. This single cylinder deadbolt can be locked or unlocked by using the keypad or key from the outside as well as the turn button from the inside. The Lifetime Polished Brass finish adds to the traditional look and feel of the product and makes a classic statement.

Will this work with a one inch thick security door? And does it include the interior closet lever?

AnswerThis set fits doors with a thickness between 1-3/8" to 2-1/4". Thick door kits may be required for doors between 1-7/8” to 2-1/4” thick. Yes, the Halifax lever includes both the interior and exterior levers.

AnswerThe SmartCode 913 can be installed on a door where the interior of the lock is enclosed and protected from the outside elements, while the keypad can face the exterior. The SmartCode 913 is not a weatherproof lock and cannot be installed on an outside gate or door with no interior covering or protection. The lock warranty will be voided if the full unit is exposed to the elements.
Does the deadbolt have a default auto lock after a few seconds?

AnswersYes, when the Auto-lock feature is enabled, the lock will automatically lock within 30 seconds after being unlocked. To enable the auto-lock feature, turn dip switch # 2 ON, in the up position. To disable the auto-lock feature, turn dip switch # 2 OFF, in the down position.

bought 2 neither work
I had 2 of these locksets installed 2 weeks ago. One wasnt functioning properly from the start. The other stopped functioning a week in-it seems the brand new batteries have already died or the lock itself is now not working. I have zero confidence in getting 2 working new ones and know my kids can get in from school safely. Im really irritated about the prospect of having to pay someone to completely uninstall BOTH of these locks and handles, (because they are a set) to get my money back then pay my contractor again to reinstall a better unit from some other company. Its sad that products are made so poorly these days. I should have listened to the bad reviews.

Terrible Product and Terrible Customer Service
You will absultely regret buying this product. I installed it in June, and today had to pay a locksmith $335 to destroy it so that I could get back into my apartment. The lock was malfunctioning so badly (the lock was constantly locking my door, whirring loudly and not accepting an unlock code) that the locksmith had to DESTROY the lock to get me in and then proceeded to tell me he’s done the same thing on two other locks for the exact same malfunction two other times this week alone! Customer service both couldn’t get me back in before I called the locksmith AND afterwards had the nerve to tell me they don’t offer refunds and that even though they advertise it as a “keyless entry” lock, they don’t really mean it because you have to have your key with you at all times for them to guarantee the product. Completely absurd. You will absultely regret this product, all around a very, very expensive mistake. Highly recommend the Schlage keyless entry locks instead. Never once had an issue.
