Some assembly required. Product is well made and is producing some great smoked meats. I've used wood chips/chunk and done pellets as well. Each time I use it I learn something new.

Great starter unit!
This is a great unit to start smoking with. Unpacking & putting the unit together took about 1 hour. The one tip that I have is, don't tighten the fasteners tight until you get the panels aligned. It will take you a few smokes to get things dialed in. Keep a log of the adjustments that you make while you are preheating, cooking/ adding chips, water, not using water, raising or lowering the heat setting. I use a Thermo Pro 20 digital for cabinet & meat temps. After you find the right combinations, mark your propane dial on the front so you have a reference point to start from for your next smoke. This will get you close to the temp you want to smoke at without doing a lot of dial adjustments to start with. Of course you know that wind and outdoor temps will play a part in your cooking process. I keep the rear vent wide open . When I first started using the smoker, I tried different positions for the damper. From the factory closed stop to wide open is roughly 3/8 of an inch, which I feel made no difference in my smokes. Remember to turn the dial on the front of the smoker to off. This way when you hook up the propane tank, there will be full pressure in the hose when you light the burner. If you leave the dial on before lighting, you will notice that the flame at the burner will not be large or adjustable. Shut it off, unhook the tank, then hook the tank back up, open the tank valve, turn dial all the way to the left, hit the igniter button and prepare for your cook. The one thing that I was disappointed in was the chip tray is small, that is why I rated quality at a 4. I often use my water pan for the chip tray. If you are set on using the water pan for liquids, purchase a second water pan to use for a larger chip tray. You will almost triple the capacity for the amount of chips.

Very nice looking smoker after assembled. Have not used the unit as of this review. I discourage anyone from buying this product if you do not have patience to assemble the product, the directions are all pictures with items pictured and where to place those items, not always very clear. I followed every step as presented and because of this had to undo a prior step to get parts to fit as in the next step the parts would not mate unless you undid the prior step.If you have large hands as I do it also makes the assembly more difficult. The process of assembly took 3 hours.

Takes forever to put together and parts are not exactly measured so you have to wiggle and go back and move things around to get a screw to align in the holes.
